White one's back in the loft now... 🥴

But I got the Helios blue one out of the cabinet,

And the base is indeed the same,

IMG_20240928_161824.jpg.bf9368d85483c9f9fbffb9cb825ac458.jpg

I wonder why they had to put the used under license text on them?
I had a look on a few other Vanguard’s models I’ve got to hand and non of them had anything like that. Maybe something Vauxhall insisted on?
It’s still odd though how these are turning up as new old stock items so long after they were made.

I’ve just noticed the different looking wheels on the white cab and it has no tow-bar either?

I've not got the white one. All my blue ones have the cast in towbar

The white one I’ve got came with a boat on a trailer as a twin pack.

I vaguely remember something about Vauxhall being really arsey about licensing - this is going back to my days working in a model shop in the mid/late 90s.

Not sure how true it was, but really there didn't seem to be many around at the time - Corgi Classics modelled loads of Fords, but no Vauxhalls at all. We kept some Schabak and Gama models of contemporary Opels, but that wasn't usually what folks were after.

When people asked why they couldn't buy a model Vauxhall Nova for their kid, or a Victor or Viva like their dad owned, the line seemed to be that Vauxhall were really picky about allowing their name on toys and models.

Can't say for certain, but it's what I recall being said by colleagues and sales reps at the time! But the extra text on the early 2000s Vanguards Cavalier base suggests something out of the ordinary was going on with Vauxhall's licensing people.

Toy fair today I decided to get any Norev and Diapet Yonezawa toys I saw that I don't have so obviously saw none at all, but that didn't stop me picking up a load of tat.

I got these at 3 for £5, many will be used for parts and a couple to fit with collection themes (Saab, rally cars). There was another Cooper Masarati thrown in for free, but I lost it befor I left the venue haha!

Mrs Concern didn't buy anything, but I don't feel too bad as she spent over £60 in each of the last two model shops we went in last week!

Her sister picked up this lovely Budgie livestock transporter to go with the horsebox she already has. Anyone know what scale these are?

Cheap tat was thin on the ground so I don't think there's anything for you @eddyramrod this time!

That Polo is great!

@FakeConcern was it you that found the rare Hot Wheels Corvette thing in a suitcase job lot?

I'm just being nosey and wondered what happened with it?

Also, unrelated... I watched an episode of Wheeler Dealers the other day which featured a Chevrolet Camaro which looked great in the light blue metallic paint. I'm thinking of looking for a play-worn toy model to replicate it.

Some Conrads that have been and gone. They made dealer models for Volkswagen and Audi. They also have connections to NZG, who did Porsches.

Conrad only made cars for a short time in the late 1970s to early 1980s. They concentrated on 1/50th commercials and with NZG they do some very impress construction equipment.
