With Colin going off on holiday next week, and in solidarity with the generally deplorable state of sales at the market, I did go a bit mad and buy this Greenlight Ford Club Wagon off him.

I do like these, and have been on the lookout for the 1/43 Bond part work version for a while now.

IMG_20240216_0823392.thumb.jpg.54891bc75e3b04d70e61a52b0b999019.jpg

Seems to be some sort of National Parks safety collection, which doesn't really grab me - but it does come with a canoe, at any rate.

I'm happy enough to keep this for myself - but it was a bit of an impulse purchase, so if anyone else fancies it, do sing up before I take a Stanley knife to the packaging later!

Before I left, I stopped over at Alan's Emporium, which doesn't really get rockin' and rollin' til well after 9.

The 50p Tray, then..

IMG_20240216_0958563.thumb.jpg.e597fcf70956b1d636d6845bd245af49.jpg

Other than a Corgi Juniors quarry truck with no tipper, and a Lesney Leyland artic that's missing the Leyland, I can't say there's much to draw the eye today.

Though there was this Maisto Shell Collection Ferrari Superamerica up top, priced at a strangely reasonable £1.50.

IMG_20240216_0959242.thumb.jpg.53d330116f774d571ed3ca2f3139014a.jpg

And what appeared to be a DeAgostini Maserati Grand Prix racer at a frankly bargainous 75p.

IMG_20240216_0959402.thumb.jpg.a0195774adfc0e7d9f53215c638262e2.jpg

Yet this Days Gone Ford van in teeth-suckingly anachronistic Shredded Wheat livery is still out at £8...

That's a really nice model, whoever that lands with I reckon it definitely needs to come out the packaging and be displayed nicely.

I'm not in the loop with model cars anymore, is Greenlight a current product or are these out of production?

From a 2021/2022 range addition, no longer listed.  Modelmatic sold out of stock, so finding it there on the stall probably the last chance on that one, in the UK anyhow

You mean this one?

Yes the Econoline is the James Bond Collection partwork model by Universal Hobbies

183768m.jpg.5db3980cb52196becfb7ba58ddf93be9.jpg

It was a £10 must have, despite being without its box, in 1:43

Scarce find, too.  Well everything seems scarce when I get interested.

Very likely to be up for grabs shortly though

The Bond partwork Econoline is a lovely model, probably one of the best in the collection tbh. Whitebox do it too but in a different colour.

Theres also the earlier version in the Mexican partwork, also available by Whitebox in a different colour.

I have one of the Mexican ones and a pair of the Bond ones.

Id like to do one as a panel van. The Club Wagon mini bus had extra chrome and bright trim which the vans usually didn’t. There was also another one that was fully loaded with the extras and additional trims, but I can’t remember what it was called.

I was gonna say that's the pick of the bunch until the front reveal. Still good looking. I had the metallic blue pre-whizzwheels version. It's a car that I have always liked and when I lived in Tunbridge Wells in the 1980s, there was a yellow one that I would see regularly.

And talking of Lancias, it's time to finish the decal work.

DSCF2559.thumb.JPG.e70f678c14aedbde41d15724e0d9ec06.JPG

Three Lancia 037 EVOs.

DSCF2560.thumb.JPG.f95610b12c3071abcab76361d91b6d7f.JPG

First up is a Martini car. This has a choice of liveries.

DSCF2561.thumb.JPG.8cddeff5ec6b4e914fc4ee8b18e1d6c5.JPG

I am going for the Markku Alen entry from the 1984 Monte Carlo.

martini.thumb.jpg.5784fce12a2d2add0f30b87f2a984e1e.jpg

A couple of pictures came with the model...

DSCF2562.thumb.JPG.e5a6c3f50a349ef25b91175c7b1184f5.JPG

along with a load of decals. Even with this amount to play with there are still some mistakes with a couple of small things missing.

DSCF2563.thumb.JPG.7abc6d8572c1db9f8a4e7719b226f88b.JPG

Also, all three come with the usual accessory bag. As nearly all the pictures I have found of the Markku Alen car have the spot lamps fitted, I will be sticking them on when the decals are done.

DSCF2564.thumb.JPG.f2fd8ef44fc166df237f2a0555e5f719.JPG

Next is another ToTip car. Again there is a choice of event.

DSCF2566.thumb.JPG.ffeae85a6ba6dee178bd5db69c13a2fe.JPG

I'm going for the Monte version again to kind of make a pair. Also more people collect Monte cars than other events, so when it comes time to sell hopefully they will go well.

911114777_907533529305031_985513141783621896_n.jpg.5ccc71b830b615c79afb82b34857af5b.jpg

Lots of decals again. Those with a good memory might spot that the left sheet is the one from the other ToTip that was decalled a couple of weeks ago. The only problem with that is some of the ToTip logos from that sheet are needed, but the green is darker. I've no idea why Vitesse spent money on two decals sheets instead of creating a complete single sheet, it's not like they weren't making a new sheet.

DSCF2567.thumb.JPG.51e97eab32402cf25d93dba0f694dc6e.JPG

Better pictures with this one.

DSCF2569.thumb.JPG.bc5542d1d1180268f972f1b36241405a.JPG

Last is a car from the 1986 Rallye Portugal.

DSCF2570.thumb.JPG.2a393c5b4fded59134ecde4ddb36dde0.JPG

It is the Duriforte Construções entry as driven to 2nd place by Carlos Bica and Cândido Júnior.

duriforte1(4).thumb.jpg.79e1bcdf85fae6d7c0210f4c1df343fc.jpg

Lots of small decals on this one.

DSCF2571.thumb.JPG.01b2d5fe9f63986e55269037f1b8a35e.JPG

Again some clear pictures.

DSCF2572.thumb.JPG.260f7af6ca462c7144dc8a7e4c4ef5a2.JPG

First thing to do was to pull all three cars apart...

DSCF2565.thumb.JPG.eec5b118856d1e00efb56f7787f02b3c.JPG

to stick in the dash decals.

DSCF2573.thumb.JPG.dd85f9d2530b467b765094e8d5c89cbe.JPG

DSCF2574.thumb.JPG.e88978e6f6b752f0174c8a5dd70afae7.JPG

Also up for £10, to whoever might fancy it.

If nobody else has requested this , could I have it please. Seeing this reminded me of having one as a kid, also if you’d be so kind as to remind me what you’re holding for me( I can only recall a Corgi Cortina estate) and what I owe you including p&p id better settle up as I’ll be unemployed at the end of the month and asking Mrs N for money for toy cars doesn’t seem a sensible course of action.

Primark are doing Hot Wheels clothing, saw a rather nice jacket in their window as I was passing yesterday - local one only has T-shirts so the Mrs has grabbed one in slightly podgy middle age man size

This thread has a lot to answer for.

Earlier I found myself standing in the toy aisle of my local Sainsbury's perusing their wares.

I was initially excited at a Majorette multi pack, however my joy (as a Youngster of the 90s) was short-lived as the only car in set I could relate to was the Clio. I also thought it was a bit daft having two Corvettes in the same set.

IMG_20240209_163911.thumb.jpg.89e818663ca6ff1a7c465828e22a30db.jpg

Anyway, I was molified by discovering these two which came home with me:

IMG_20240216_181624.thumb.jpg.c23e8b13b5b5fb9a0922a47e1b2536a3.jpg

IMG_20240216_181608.thumb.jpg.9adf479a531ebcc73400c7b76431d96b.jpg

I particularly liked the 2cv as it is the rectangular headlight model, just like the 1979  my parents had, and which forms my first motoring memories.IMG_20220220_1023509282.thumb.jpg.afc9b2dc971741847c44f8c7b089b406.jpg

BTW, does anyone have one of these they are willing to part with?

image.png.6d61e4f550430a10e502c3e012331cfa.png

Reason I ask is that I have a colleague who did a lot of development work on these and he is due to retire in a couple of months and I'd like to give it as a parting gift. Don't mind if it is in a card or not, and I can throw in the Proton above to sweeten the deal!

I do like those Proton's cool thing to model.

As an aside. Isn't this a great thread? I'm fairly new to looking in on this but now If I have a shitty day or i'm fed up I just look at this. It's sort of zen somehow. Folk elsewhere on the Forum are often getting all worked up but here is just a chilled, nice place to be.
