Lucky bleeder! I didn't get into Carter until a couple of years back, a driver at work has seen them numerous times and said they're class live. I've pretty much worn out both 'You Fat Bastard' CDs in my car now, pretty much play them on continual loop.

Mechanic has bailed on the Amazon again and now expects me to trailer it to his lodging garages 40 miles from where it is currently.
The reason? His van won't start.

Physician, heal thyself! This is the strangest January completion date I've ever agreed on. He's got all the parts I paid for so I can't even finish it myself \ mither Pete-M.

I was just looking at that on my phone but as it was upside down, rotated my phone to see it properly. Still upside down. I am not a smart man.

A decent little French diesel hatchback and a decent bit of Highland hydro infrastructure.

A disappointing haul from a trip to the highlands this year, the only decent chod was this refridgerated lorry outside Lochinver.

However, I debated taking the camera this morning when I went shopping...glad I did:

It's a two-stroke, just imported from Poland, and judging by the number plate and the quick conversation with the driver of the X5, heading for Norn Irn!

The front filament is for the dip beam and should point upwards, so that it reflects off the top of the headlight and shines down onto the road.  Take a look at the orientation of an H4 bulb to get it correct.

After spending 3 days unpacking boxes and getting the new workplace ready for punters, today was day 1 of 2 of my MOT refresher course. The Vosa trainer seems to be a bona fide 'shiter. He is 205 daft and even showed a picture of a mint Renner 14 and used it as an example for a test scenario. Good to know they are petrolheads at heart and not just robots. I daren't tell him about this place though, in case the Tales from a Testing lane takes off......
Good couple of lads in the new garage too- even make me coffee at times, I was asked which mug was mine- I said the fastest one. A puzzled look and I had to explain that my mug was the fastest in the garage- because it's chipped.

Thought you'd be the one to get it.

As you can see it's had a bit of a biff on the snout.  Bumper is a bit mangled, grille has been pushed back and offside headlight smashed.  Doesn't appear to be any panel damage to speak of though, which is a bonus I suppose.

Other than the smack it's not in bad nick.  It'd been owned by one family for almost all its life, and came with the original handbook and a shedload of old MOT's, plus a HBOL.  Drives well enough, and seems good on fuel so far - got from just inside the North Circ to Wroxham on £15.  Ridiculously tall gearing probably helps in that regard.

Anyway - anyone got a spare Stanza headlight lying around?  There's a chap advertising on eBay that he has some, but he's not responding to my emails.

Old folks decided it was new car time...the old Kangaruu...as sound as it was had to be replaced with a new one.So the Oban Times was advertising a 2010 with low mileage..so Old Man and I went off to Inveraray to have a look.Weather was absolute shite..blizzard thru Glen Coe and gales on Rannoch Moor. The Renault was for sale by Scotlands oldest marque dealership..he's been in business since the 1960s...he told us that he opened the business when he found out it was easier to get a new Dauphine than a new Morris Minor. Its a busy active garage..

The roads are notoriously treacherous so he has a successful ditch extraction operation..running four recovery trucks.

This had spun out and gone into reverse via a truck yesterday morning.

Obviously had to have a look round the back.

Out with old..see ya old girl.

    In with the new..

Going across Rannoch on the way back..we got hit n chipped on the windscreen by an over sized piece of road grit.I was kinda sad to see the old one go...folks had it 13 years..never failed them..but they still got 750quid trade in..the old dealer actually was a nice bloke...told me he'd got rid of all his classics..ran off a long list!
