kevin 900 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Bloody fantastic stuff! I grew up round here - Harold Hill Shops; Dagenham parish church - With holy grail base model Sierra in frame; And finally, a random B&Q car park full of chod; Terrific.

Pillock Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Search for our old favourite.... "Car park" Shocking 205 parking OMGDRIFTYO Sierra into the carpark, narrowly missing the newborn-baby-poo green Cortina. Yellow Escort now worth more than all the retail and housing property behind combined.
Negative Creep Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 What strikes me is how many of those cars aren't black, white or Resale Fucking Silver
brammy777 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I live just up this road:It has barely changed in 25 years, most of the buildings are the same colour too. And my Mum is from Aberfeldy, I go there most years, the Square has barely changed too, the parking has probably got a tad more accessable. And I lived near here, 5 years later:Bexleyheath Broadway, such a misnomer. I remember those Leyland Titans very well, the 401 went down my narrow road all the time, they probably hit so many car mirrors.
dollywobbler Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 People from the Brum area may well remember the old scrappy in Harborne. Right opposite the hotel where I was born! (behind those houses if it's the scrappy I think it is). Mobile shop Tranny action Colourful BL tin YES!
seth Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I could re-take this one. Just need to find a Saab, Honda Civic (?) and Mk1 GOlf Local-ish high street still looks like this. I like the Lincoln (?)
scaryoldcortina Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Ryan's Garage is situated in Mundell Street in South Moor... Bizarre co-incidence today, about an hour after I posted that Mr Ryan's grandson Eric came to see me at my garage to see if I had a radio to fit the TR6 he is fixing up. All the local photos are of stuff that hasn't changed, and there are no cars in shot.
CreepingJesus Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Yup, that's a R4 van alright. Similarly, struggling to find anything of much relevance to where I was in '86. Plenty on Paisley, where I was born, but not much on where I've been since. Some from my general area of now...just 'cos.

Spottedlaurel Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Subaru definitely, one of these: Subaru 1600DL Estate by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Looks like a lot of fun to be had with that site. I don’t really remember it myself, but I did leave school that year so maybe missed it in the midst of exams, getting a job etc. Cabstar! A very meaningful shot for me. A134 road into Sudbury, on which they built a roundabout here in conjunction with forming a bypass around town. Former Howlett’s Datsun/Nissan dealership on the left. Old factory on the right now gone, replaced by McD’s, Halfords etc retail development. There’s now a big petfood factory on the grassed area on the left. A later Subaru at the Campsea Ashe saleground. Bury St Edmunds.
Spottedlaurel Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Is the Volvo just about to T-bone the other car?!

seth Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Real quote this time This shows the large amount of land needed at a motorway junction to ensure smooth flow That's the M1 Junction 10. Recently dug up massively all over and widened signifcantly (5 lanes up the hill). To ensure smooth flow.
retrogeezer Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 still struggling to find any good pics from where I grew up in Blackwater & Camberley in Surrey. This one of Sandhurst is quite good though....
