I was tickled by someone mentioning they had John Shuttleworths "Austin Ambassador Y reg!" as a ring tone.

My own phone sports:

Juliet Bravo Theme tune as the ring tone

Left bank Two by the Novelltones as the message tone.

Both annoy my wife no end as I dont carry my phone with me any more due to my work location and leave it at home on the over mantle.

So what do you have?

Ringtone, Peter Griffin doing MC Hammer:

Text alert (can't find clip on yootoob) John Cleese "Excuse me sir, but someone is attempting to contact you telephonically. Shall I tell them to fuck off?"

I have a phone so old and shite you can't change the ringtones so it goes "beep" when I have a message and "bring bring" when there is a call.

Posted

I used to have 'Everyone Has Aids' from Team America. Unfortunately it went off one day at full volume in a busy showroom and I couldn't disable it. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at me.... so I ran out

I'm a ringtone saddo. Everyone who rings me quite regularly has their own - saves me looking for the bloody phone when I'm driving. I know who's calling without looking at it.

My 'standard' ringtone for people I don't know is

Otherwise it's a mad jumble of stuff.

My ringtone is not vehicle-related, but it does contain some top grade shite....It's a voice recording of the Greek prime minister addressing some of his supporters just before he was voted in (late 2009, a few months before the IMF had to step in to prevent/delay the inevitable bankruptcy).

"My friends, we [the Greek state] DO have money. We DO have money". Unfortunately, it's in Greek so it doesn't really raise any eyebrows over here, but I still have a bit of a chuckle.

Vaguely Shite/Car related on mine are:

Z Cars

Top Gear

The Sweeney

The Professionals

The old version of The Bill, with the sound of the Sierra skidding

Theme music to Ashes to Ashes (dunno if that counts)

the pager sound from Grand Theft Auto III

Dempsey and Makepeace

I also have Juliet Bravo as a ringtone - always thought it was a great tune

2nd gen Starsky and Hutch

Theme from "South City Beat" a mini-series aired in NI about the PSNI stolen vehicle team.

Other randoms are:

The Imperial Theme from Star Wars, performed by Metallica

Dads Army

Theme from NCIS

Theme from Terminator

Super Frank Lampard, recorded by me @ The Shed End, Stamford Bridge

I tried recording F1 cars at Spa a year or two ago but it didn't work - it just goes vvvvvvvvvv-clickclickclic-BFFFFFFFFFFF chirp. Someone told me the decibel levels flatten the diaphragm in the mike of the phone.

My main ringtone's a load of screaming, it's pretty audible (even audible during a football match, amazingly), and causes no end of amusement. My bro-in-law did that one, culled from bits of 'The Limmy Show', and I've done a few. We do them for nowt, using Audacity (which itself is free), so that's the true way of the shiter, in my book.

Otherwise I just use songs from the MP3 collection on Sony-San.

I've got the first 30 seconds from Convoy, I'm a wannabe big rig driver...

and East Bound and Down, for the same reasons as above, but I wanna be the Bandit..

LOL, forgot about this version

Grand, I've been looking for something like Audacity for a while.

What about one of Mike Brewer or Edd China saying 'dear god mate, another shit thread'

Don't know if anyone else out there is a fan of the film "Where Eagles Dare" starring Richard Burton & Clint Eastwood, amongst others, and I realise it's quite an old film. That said, I now have Richard Burton saying "Broadsword calling Danny Boy, Broadsword calling Danny Boy.... Over" as my message alert. Truly hysterical!

Of course, if you don't know the film, none of this reply will make ANY sense!!!

I thought it was the least naff built in ring tone on the phone.

Actually, I abused the 30sec freebies from the 3Store, and had Motorhead's 'City Kids' for a while! Might use that one again.

When I drove a ratty Transit to Czech (and then again when I used it to collect the Escort from Frankfurt) a couple of years ago that was on the one minidisc in the van that worked. Given a choice of that or German radio the one minidisc was on repeat. The Bandit it wasn't....

My ringtone is Low, which is basically the normal Ring tone but a bit more regal.

Novelty musical ringtones seem a bit daft when you consider the possible content of a call. I have to wonder how many people had the Crazy Frog going "badabumbumbaawww" in their pocket before being told some tragic news.

Mine used to go "ring ring" for a call and "beep" for a text. Now it doesn't even do that, since I keep the thing on silent mode all the time. It vibrates and that's it. I got fed up with being woken up at 11am after a long nightshift, often by the driving agency who'd sent me off to work nights in the first place.

Posted

Mine goes brring brring except if the wife calls, I have it vibrate twice then if I don't manage to press the button in time, a sample of her voice shouting "why don't you answer the f*cking phone!" converted to a mid file by a techie mate.

My phone died about six months ago and I've not yet managed to bother redoing the music files I had on the old one for the new one. So...

Previous Ringtone -

from 00.10... it annoyed fuck out of one of my former supervisors.

Current Ringtone - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sYMhjZWbco&feature=related

Previous message tone -

as the first thirty seconds were from a TV show I used to watch that no bugger could remember the name of in the office.

Current message tone - the first ten seconds from this...

Alarm needs to be something which'll actually wake me, so it's this...
