These are gopping horrors to look at and are generally owned & driven by odious onanists, but in sheer terms of amazing engineering that are a class act. So incredibly bowel-shatteringly fast (esp in Turbo form) with a lightening throttle response but can still go in the mud and be a huge family estate, and a luxury car all in one box.

Oh and it probably won't be a secret much longer, there's a likelyhood that I will shortly be PONCING about in one of these:

My profuse aopolgies for this treasonous behaviour.

I think FIAT 500s and Porsche Cayennes both need SCRAPPING immediately, ought to be reformed into Iranian Peugeot 405s and those Chinese Subaru Forester knock-offs based on Maestros.

And as already mentioned, Hyundai i30 and the Kia Cee'd before they facelifted it and fucked it up.

Oh yeah, one more; was passed by one of these today, white on an M-reg, and it's been so long since I've seen one I actually went "ooft".

Pog is going all "lifestyle", he's going to move into an executive apartment and spend all his money on shoes which look a bit like the ones you get when you go bowling.

Is it just me who thinks the GEN-2 Proton looks a bit BMWish? It is? Sorry!

It probably does. In fact, it almost looks like how the 1-series could've turned out if BMW weren't such a complete shower of incompetent cuntclots.

I fear an Impian is on the list of shite I want to own in the near future...

I think they're tidy looking things. If it's anywhere near as much fun to chuck about as the Impian is (bizarrely) I'll definitely have a go on one when they get to £500. Although if I find a cheap LPG Impian in red, I may never get rid. Can't remember being so in love with a car for years.

CMS - get one bought. The electric windows won't work and the airbag light will be on, but they all do that. :D

I drove a Daewoo Leganza at launch back in 1998. A bit on the bland side, as you might expect, but perfectly acceptable for regular use. Even more so at Autoshite prices!

And Pete-M: you and me both on the 72 Ford Galaxie! :D

I do like the looks of the Gen-2. Odd how Proton own Lotus yet never really do anything with it beyond a few lukewarm hatches

I like the Fiat 500. Sure they're probably mostly owned by fashionistas who bought one because they were the new style icon on the block, but they look quite cool and not a little funky.

Here's one of my entries: the sort of thing usually associated by footballers/wankers/tailgaters but I'd certainly roll in one...

Ha Iwas trying to think of the name so I could google it. I'd ave one as a daily no problem.I think they look better without the alloys. They probably all knackered and leaking air like fook nowadays.

They look a little like mid-90s 626s.

Truly the sophisticated hooligan's choice of wheels, although I dread to think what the RFL cost is like with mega-CO2 levels no doubt.

This is my personal fetish. I own one just like this, a 740 GLT 16v, made for only 1 year and 155bhp. moves pretty well for a lardy old barge

volvo.jpg

whilst I've always had a hankering for one of these. subaru sumo..revvy little 1.2 3 cylinder, 4x4. gotta be worth quintuple shite points if you spot one these days, rarer than rocking horse poo...

sumo.jpg

I owned one of these BK (before kids) and want another desperately. The USA's cortina, the chevrolet caprice was a see them everywhere type of car, the quintessential new york cab of the '80s and the most popular law enforcement vehicle at the time.

Take all the smog equipment off in this country and they go like stink, courtesy of the awesome chevy smallblock V8. 25mpg on a run. cheaper on parts than a cortina. (yes, really.)

I even saw mine on ebay some years after I'd sold it. what put me off was that the guy had bought it and then parked it up, it was still complete with all the exact same problems I sold it to him with. (autobox issue the main one)

chevrolet-impala-1981-1.jpg

for some strange reason I'd like one of these. subaru Vivio was never a common car here. one of Japan's kei cars that somehow made it over, a 660cc 4 pot with 4x4 again. avoid the motorways and they are great fun.

1992_Subaru_Vivio_01.jpg

and finally I've wanted one of these since I first saw one aged 12. styling is an aquired taste..but you'll never lose it in a car park. 1958 edsel. I even have long standing permission from the missus to get one..she likes 'em too..all thats missing are the 20,000 or so other reasons I can't get one.

I´d like a Kia Opirus, I´m afraid to say...

and I absolutely don´t like Opel, never did and never will like them, but a nice Senator B would be phantastic:

come on guys, vivio? espero? nice squared volvo? I think most people here would have no problem moving about in such distinguished motors.

you have to try harder! This thread is meant to be for non-shite! go on, admit it, you secretly fancy a brand spanking new 3-series with 7 years of "affordable repayments, innit?".

Quite. I'd happily hock myself and sell my soul for this, in this colour.

There's one of those outside a local garage and a camper version at that. It's been there for bloody ages, I think it needs an inlet manifold or something like that and they can't find one for it.

The only new car that I actually like is the Land Rover Defender ;)

Oh... modern stuff? Well... i30 and Cee'd straight off, that Proton Satria Neo, and this...

Though probably in black. It just looks right.

I really like a lot of the new Ford stuff, and VW/Audi. They all feel like quality products which I guess has been VW's bag all along (as creaky as my Golf was 18 years down the line) but Ford have really come on strong since the introduction of the Focus. I'd certainly rock a new Focus.

Astra too. Sorry, but they're actually nice places to be and do lots of miles in. Generic and bland yes but I wouldn't turn one down as a daily hack.

If I had the cash I'd buy one of these in a heartbeat, and thus claim the title "King Chav"

FocusRS_1207124c.jpg

I also have a serious hankering for one of these

medium_seat_exeo_st_3281.jpeg

When they're at Autoshite price levels, I think I'll get one.

Re: the black Dodge Charger on parge 3 originally posted by Rusty Pelican - I use an image of perhaps the very same car on some other forums. 8)

Re: Rover Streetwise. One of these passed me today but sadly it was a decent spec one with colour coded bumpers & chav alloys.

I see the Daewoo Leganza & Hyundai Sonata get a mention - I wouldn't turn down a Kia Magentis personally. 8)

All this talk of Protons has reminded me. I've had more than one Ebay search on these-
