I read that and wasn't impressed.

 

I did 150+ between '88 and '94. Probably done another 150 since. Lost count, but for the last few years I don't think I've less than about 5 a year.

Heard the bloke interviewed on 5 Live earlier. Doesn't really strike me as a shite-ist, tho'. Apparently, he sees stuff in showrooms he likes, and chops in his old one. Sometimes in a matter of days or weeks. Seemingly, he bought a car, packed the family into it to go on holiday, and chopped it in while on said holiday.

Actually he struck me as being somewhere between Mr Logic and Harry Enfield's "I don't believe you wanted to do that..." character. Bit of a numpty really.

All shite but all with their good points. Except perhaps the Imp which was one headache after another. Nothing but grief from that one.

Only the GS and C5 were less than ten years old.

I've only bought 5.5 cars

 

My first car was the GSA Estate that I still have. Total is 2 GSAs, 1 GS, 2.5 BXs*

 

* one being a 50:50 purchase off eBay in 2006. The one where I was round a mate's house and his finger was hovering over the bid button (a BX14 St Tropez) - and I clicked it for him. We split the cost - he became registered keeper and I got to borrow/babysit it regularly. Those were the days!

I have already been in it. Its nothing to get too excited about (but enough for me to mention it here OT i am afraid). I 'found' a load of Emmerdale scripts in a pub (i.e. they were delivered to my house by accident but my mate who ran the pub offered me a load of free beer if the pub got a mention) and obviously wanted to return them to the rightful owners. I thought the safest way of doing this would be to get whichever tabloid newspaper who was willing to pay me the most money, to return them on my behalf. Had a full page spread on page 6.

 

Incidentlaly the Sun (who did not offer us as much money so got turned down) also ran a story on it portraying us 'scruffy with tattoos and baseball caps'. They stated that they turned down the scripts as they found it morally wrong to take them. Sore losers.

I've had 6 cars, 4 of which I still own. A mate of mine and fellow Rover 800 enthusiast has probably had more than that. He owned a total of 111 cars at once and has bought, used and sold many more.
