It's gonna be a long one....

There's only 2 reasons I get up earlier than I do for work, and those are a vet run or collecting a car....

Thankfully none of my furry family currently need the vet, touch wood, so here we go!

Forgot to take a picture of breakfast but it was an Aldi ready meal consisting of mash, beans and a square sausage. I fancied a fry up but fuck cooking at this time of morning! Not even sure any greasy spoons would have been open either.

Big thank you to @AnnoyingPentium for the lift!

I got straight through security within 10 mins, half an hour before the gate closed. They now don't require you to separate your liquids and electronics which must save a ton of time across the board.

Gate is now closed but still waiting to board as it looks like the incoming plane has not long arrived.

You have an hour-ish to make your guesses 😉 And I have a window seat to enjoy!

I am on, and boarding is complete 😁 We might just get away on time!

Would that even make it back to Scotland in one charge? Probably not, eh?

It’ll barely make it to Birmingham on one charge

No pez shot yet as I still have 180 miles in the tank but nipped in to a Co Op to fill up the human for the long road home 😊 Couldn't take much stuff on the flight as I had hand luggage only.

Massive thanks to @andyberg for hanging on to this fine beast and collecting me from the airport. It's a lovely, lovely car. I just need to remember I have a boot behind me when I park now! 😆

Looks like a fine place to spend the best part of 7hrs! 😎

Hope the M6 isn't too grisly

Staggered to find diesel cheaper down here than it is in Scotland! Having a lovely chilled waft Northwards 😁

Could not have got it this exact if I tried 😅 It actually clicked off at this, full tank and at this rate, I do expect it to have some left when I get home 😊

Didn’t realise you had popped up a collection thread 🤦‍♂️ Glad the first bit of the trip went well. Get that air con down to massive chill and that cruise control set and the trip back should be almost as good. Pleasure to meet a fellow shiter, chodspeed.

That is the cheapest station in the local area, cheaper than the Tesco.

I actually had to turn the air con up coz I was too cold 😆 Much needed tho coz when it was 25 degrees outside, you don't half feel the blast in the face when you open the door.

Drives alot nicer than I remember a Mk3 Mondeo! Far more comfy too.

I nearly made it home the same day I left but needed to take a final pit stop at Gretna for a dose of caffeine.

Some show-line fancy mice, with the maddest of ears! I'll get pics of the rest of them once I'm home but this wee girl is AWAKE! Glad the long journey doesn't seem to be bothering them at all.

family friend bought a S type 20 odd years ago, me being err me said....nice ford... she wasn't happy as anna, god bless her thought she was posh... i got myself out of it by saying it was the love child of a mondeo and escort cosworth in a designer suit, cheap service parts with legendary british class.

Got this wee special guy too. He's quite a shy boy and a bit shell shocked but hopefully he will settle. He's a rock cavy, actually closely related to guinea pigs and quite rare as a pet. He was born last year, bred by a very well-respected keeper.

Looking forward to getting to know him 😊 Not had one before, and been a while since I had any guinea pigs.

Also, I've travelled pretty much the length of the country today and have learned 3 things about the general public, hopefully present company excepted!

1. It's apparently acceptable to over take thin air! 😡

2. Spacial awareness of the size of your own car and where it is in relation to other vehicles, is decidedly lacking. This has also taught me that the horn on the Jag does not sound as beefy as the car looks 😆

3. Very few people seem to know how to use a slip road correctly, including a coach driver who nearly had to stop whilst joining the motorway and had a GXO artic have to move over into lane 2 of a 2 lane motorway, to avoid an accident.

A very tidy looking Ford Mondeo mark 1 in burgandy (on the right parked on the pavement ). Looks like a GLX if those wheel trims are correct.

Nice. Looks a tidy one too. Never had a Jag though many Transits and the odd Mondy.
