St.Jude's Road To Perdition - A 2003 Subaru Legacy // The End. TTFN!

[St.Jude]

I have found a car on the internet. I feel I have found a good car. I made a low offer and somehow it was accepted. It's at the absolute top end of the budget I've allowed myself. I have asked for the afternoon off and I've been given it. I also have something to collect on the way back.

We've obviously been here before. Do traditions start after you've done them once or twice? Who knows. It's very similar circumstances to when I purchased the Land Cruiser and I am hoping beyond hope I'm not at the side of the motorway with bosted wipers again.

To add some jeopardy to this - the last 2 cars I have bought have been ungrateful bastards. The Land Cruiser you all know about, the less said about the Rover the better. Have I managed to do the unthinkable and purchased a hat trick of Lemons?

All this and more begins from 2pm today.

I reckon it’s a Ford C-Max with an ecoboost engine. Every cubby hole is lined with melted sweets and broken parts of children’s toys. It’s been serviced sporadically by the neighbour’s uncle’s dog, and only ever with the wrong type of oil. The oil pressure light has a staring competition with the driver each time the car is started.

You may well think that.

We shall see of course.

1.

Already took a dump this morning. On company time of course, because then I get paid for it.

Joking aside, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that this car is a good one - you deserve it after your perseverance so far.

[St.Jude]

We begin.

Shortest rail journey/route in the country. When I first started courting my wife in 2008 the route was served by a single DMU (think that’s what it is) where the doors were on either end of it.

Now we wait for the proper train.

[hairnet]

shuttle just to get to train

brummies dont do trams?

[GeordieInExile]

I hope it's a C6.

[St.Jude]

Smethwick. Home of Julie Andrew’s and a lovely red Subaru Impreza that’s on Gumtree for £4,999.

Its silly. All that shuttle does is go between Stourbridge Town and Stourbridge Junction. That’s it. Although tbh it’s a good 10/15 mins walk if you have legs.

[St.Jude]

Pit stop - as in I’ve half an hour to wait for the next train in Wolverhampton.

Home of Sir John Wolf, inventor of the Wolf. And the most beautiful woman in the country - Suzi Perry.

Sounds like @sierraman logged into the wrong account this morning 😂

[St.Jude]

On the comfy train. Mild disagreement over who had a seat for when. Winner was me of course.

On train entertainment.

[High Jetter]

Chodspeed, glad you made it out of W'tn alive.

Fairly sure I’ve seen her about in Stourbridge. Can’t mistake the legs.

Also have a screenshot somewhere where I asked her if Wolves ever won the premiership she’d marry me. She didn’t say no, she did reply to it with a wink. So that’s contractually binding.

[St.Jude]

Welcome to Crewe.

Unfortunately not the birthplace of John Carew.

We do not get off the train here though.

[Dave_Q]

Trying to think where you'd be going to change in Preston, I guess either Blackpool or somewhere east Lancashire like Blackburn or Burnley?

[St.Jude]

Pleasington. Sounds nice. But it’s not here.

I may have just decided to go the long way round to London just so I can have some alone time away from the wife. You never know.

I didn’t but she also knows I’m forgetful and wired differently - so it’s plausible it could happen 😂.

Only 30 minutes left to go…

[St.Jude]

Well… here it is.

Thats enough for now. Will update when I’m home.

[loserone]

Hahaha holy fuck.

Great cars, but I expected you to lower the liability versus the land cruiser 😂
