1 MILE PER CC: popping out for pie.

I don’t fancy 1993 miles in the Cortina but I reckon 2594 in the Senator would probably be quite easy.

1300 odd miles in the Dolly/Acclaim or 2300ish in the 740/Cresta. I reckon the Volvo would be the only car to manage that comfortably...

Best of luck @Andyrew!

Now the Jag seems to be running nicely, shall I take a trip to Gazli in Uzbekistan? And back obviously. I would actually love to do this but I fear the fuel cost is going to be a bit steep. And the obligatory FTPs will mean i won’t be back by Monday morning.

Nürburgring is just under 13 miles around? Could make for an interesting* couple of days ........

A little* while ago, four of us did a tour of Devon and Cornwall in a MK3 estate, fly camping as often as possible, and with one person on a provisional licence using the trip to get some experience.

The cortina was an early one, with a 1600 cross flow. It managed everything without breaking a sweat, even when treated a bit harshly by said learner.

Thinking back that must have been pretty close to the mileage, starting from Hertfordshire.

Poor cortina met it's maker parked under a streetlight in rickmansworth, at the hands of a drunk idiot in a golf, whilst on loan to my sister.

Good job I wasn't there, there would have been violence.

Cortina actually drove home, with the towball dragging down the road. The golf didn't.

On you go......😁

How is the VP holding up? Oil consumption within reasonable bounds? 😄

Doing good, strange untraceable noise under braking. But nothing of concern found.

Only concern so far is a slightly buldged dispalacer one side at the front,

I brought 10ltrs of oil with me but in 400 we've only gone from min to max on the dipstick which I'm surprised at

Mine showed a thirst for oil unknown before when faced with those distances. Doesn't do it anymore so I'm assuming it's an a series quirk.

I think I will qualify for this by the time I get home! Left on Sunday morning last week, and clocked up the 200k miles on Wednesday. By the time I get home on Tuesday I will have covered 2400 miles in my 2290cc car (99% on LPG with a bit of planning!)

The closest I'll ever get to this was the trip to Shitefest Scotland! But I fell short by several hundred cc (1997 back then in the lag2, I did 1600ish miles)

I've only got 1591cc or something now, so we could do it again and I can join this club 😂

I don't think I'm going to try this. I'd be driving in circles trying to make 6400 miles.

Someone once told me that a long journey in America is 3000 miles, not 300 like the UK.

So it's only there and back, plus a bit.

A big thank you to @MrsJuular and @juular for giving us a place to stay last night and for taking us on I think about 80 miles of epic roads today.

A nippy morning deserved a photo, after yesterdays afternoon task, the  VP now rocking some new spotlights.
