Northern Twixfest/Shitefest 12/13th July '25 - Wrap-up

Well, I'm going to be in a modern as the range rover did not make it to the MOT today..

I’ll be in the Boring BMW, because I’ve got to pick up some Fulvia parts on the way. Entirely unrelated to the 30c forecast and it having working AC of course.

Noooo, what does it need now?

At least the Olds dash should be easier to get in there as well.

Height sensor needs recalibration I think.  I don't have the right computer to sort it.

Accommodation test erected. First use since SF 2018.

Car prep has involved looking out the window and confirming no wheels have fallen off.

Going down to Manchester tomorrow to see ELO, home mid afternoon Friday and then heading straight to Engerland.

I'm sure everything will be fine...

Looking bloody hot for Twixfest at the weekend especially the Saturday. Is it safe/allowed to go for a paddle in the Tyne at the bottom of the field?

It is, there are steps leading down to the river, usually used by the local angler association members.

£5 per visitor car (any number of occupants) sounds like a fun challenge !

I was just thinking that.

Who's taking a minibus?

I'd say I'm out for Sunday... turns out the Panda has a snapped engine mount bolt, so the engine had dropped. Looks like it hasn't damaged the engine, but the bolts are gonna need to be replaced as a minimum. Will know more tomorrow.

I'll update the details about how to find the place on Thursday evening. Hexham is less than 10mins from there.

The biggest cars I own are the Cadillac and Caprice, both seat 6 people which should cover most attendees...

The hearse does have one opening window for ventilation, I would regas the AC m9 but the gas would escape through the holes in the condenser. Its official carrying capacity is 4 in the seats and 2 in the back but "£5 per visitor car (any number of occupants)" definitely seems like they're throwing down a challenge that the AS contingent should accept. We can always travel there in a few cars as long as we all go through the gate in the same vehicle.

Cheers man!

Manchester and back all via the rail guided disease tube, rather than BL's finest. Not any more reliable but at least not my problem when it shits the bed!

Dolly probably not ideal for car show enterage, 5 adults is absolute max capacity and reduces top speed to about 53mph...

The sheep have now evacuated the field of dreams. I'm busy tonight and still work tomorrow but things should move over once the first people arrive.
