NorthernMonkey Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Well, that’s interesting. Underneath the copious amount of dried mud from @Saabnut’s driveway, it’s pretty much spotless underneath! Absolutely bone dry and other than a bit of very light surface corrosion on the rear subframe, no rot at all. Next step is to give it a thorough going over with the jet wash to remove the copious amount of Scotland that’s dried on then, once it’s dried out, cover everything with lanoguard. I wasn’t sure what the long term prospects were for it but I can see it hanging around over this winter at least as it clings to the road like nobodies business in the mud and shit. You can certainly tell it’s been very well looked after by its previous owner, @Drumtochty, as it’s so tight and well mannered to drive! mk2_craig, Coprolalia, Sunny Jim and 14 others 17

Saabnut Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Glad you are happy with it, I knew it was a good one hence offering it on here. For a non turbo it goes remarkably well. As for the mud, it is well known that everyone who visits chez Saabnut takes a little bit away with them for fond* memories! puddlethumper, lesapandre and Matty 3

It’s currently swept in to a neat pile on the workshop floor, right next to the heap of greenery removed from the 900 engine… 😂 Saabnut 1
Drumtochty Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I can compliment you Nothern Monkey on your diagnosis of our dishwashers poor performance in cleaning the dishes when you visited Drumtochty. As your recommendation, I purchase and fitted new top and bottom cleaning arms in the dish washer. It's now cleaning dishes is as good as when it was new !!!!!!!!!!!! As advised, replace the air filter element as it is getting a bit dirty. Saabnut 1

I got home yesterday to find the fancy heat exchanger tumble dryer pulled out and firmly in ‘the naughty corner’ as it was making strange noises and not drying properly. cue 15 minutes on my hands and knees with my head inside the machine, removing the moisture sensor and retrieving the inch long screw out of someone’s (? 🤔) pocket that had got wedged between that and the seal, shorting the sensor whilst rubbing the drum. Air filter will be procured tomorrow from the factors 👍👍 Jim Bell 1
