And I thought that working an MG6 as a taxi was hardcore!

Any chance you can work an Atos or a Matiz?

Not unless I decide to get a Wolverhampton badge.

I want an ex taxi 900,000km Atos now wondering how difficult it is to buy cars from Columbia and have them shipped here?

I'll buy you one as long as you promise to sign for it at customs and agree to take it home via a location of my choice.

This one with a mere 680,000kms on it looks immaculate inside

Wonder if it ever carried any passengers?

The boot looks quite worn though, I guess that's had quite alot of little parcels put inside it during its life...

I wonder why the battery is in the boot?

Can you imagine doing a million km in a Matiz, what must someone have done in a previous life to deserve that!

That would have made a good collection thread.

Seem bizarre choices for a taxi. Having said that I know Picanto's like ours are popular Taxi's in some places & they're little too.

I think what this says to me, is if you live in a country where you don't have a throwaway culture when it comes to cars - shows what can be done!

One thing I like about this is that a car like an Atos is a car that many in the West laugh at, but in reality they are clearly hardy, durable and good cars.

I have looked through the cars again and this is among the oldest.

1999 Daewoo Cielo 1,5 with 857,000km and with how old it is, could it have rolled over once?

I think what @Split_Pin is insinuating is that the battery is there to get you started, I mean its no good at starting the car, but it will surely get *you* going LOL

or to put it another way,  the white powder around the battery terminals is perhaps not lead oxide...

And Hyundai and Kia seem to be the most popular brands.

And are many high mileage Picanto too.

My parents had two Chevrolet Matiz. Simple and easy to work on, especially for a modern car. I'd definitely have one.

Looks great in yellow!

I was waiting for someone to notice. And yes, I also think it looks good on those.

Has nobody yet pointed out the obvious - that importing a million km tiny wrong-hand-drive taxi would surely be a very good idea for @LightBulbFun? :)

I'd love to know what had to be replaced during those 900,000kms.

My 2020 1.5 TSI Skoda Octavia is on 115k and I'm wanting rid of it already. The engine sounds dodgy and it's cost me £1800 between a turbo and timing belt recently. Plus the rear wiper is buggered.

The baggiest taxi I've ever had had 440k miles on the odometer and was a 2006 Octavia 1.9 PD. There was a book of work carried out on though. In the end it was in the garage on a weekly basis, mainly for daft stuff like doors not opening. When you drove it through a puddle the gears became stiff, the driver's seat reclined by itself and the steering creaked on full lock. I couldn't imagine driving that for 800k.

That might be running LPG judging by the inlet part that might be a mixer

I haven't thought about checking the prices and it's crazy and an older Atos is even more expensive.
