ZOMG Fiat 132!!!

I went to the car show at Ripon Racecourse at the weekend and there were some pretty good cars there I haven't seen before. I'll put a selection on my spotted thread but I thought this honey deserved its own 8)

It's actually got a really nice story and the owner who I had a good chat with is a thoroughly nice bloke and he's into obscure stuff (he was quite taken with my Datsun). The Fiat was local to him and he was told about it by the old chap's son I believe so he went along to see it to advise on where to sell it etc expecting a huge pile of rust. Waxoyled from new and pampered however, he bought it for himself and has had it resprayed and replaced some trim etc but it's pretty much original and in fabulous condition. He's been back to the old people's home to see the old chap a few times (I think he said he died not long ago though) and showed him a trophy he'd won at a show which he was over the moon with.

Gaze upon the pics and bask in the beauty of this fine Italian machine 8):D

The owner also has an Austin A70 Hampshire which I've seen at shows and some ADO16s, including a 1300GT.

I dont know how these old boys do it, if I bought a brand new car and immediately stored it in a bank vault, after 20 years it would be covered in scratches & rust and have knackered carpets etc, various broken trim bits and so on. These boys manage to drive to the supermarket once a week for 20 years and the car is still mint at the end of it.

Stunning. I've not seen one of those for 25 years. IIRC the GLS was an 1800?

What a stunner! I don't think there's anything about it I don't like. It just looks so right. Presuming that others who read this don't have any eyes, here's a list of my fave bits:

1. Fab colour which hasn't been changed to something less '70s when resprayed.

2. Painted steel wheels with chrome hubcaps.

3. Off-white front aluminium number plate with raised digits, supported by equally lush square yellow jobbie on the back.

I think if I had a car that looked this good and was in this condition, it wouldn't matter what it would be, I'd just enjoy pootling around in it!

Does anyone know what the i/// sort of graphic on the right hand of the dealer sticker means?

I like this a lot! The interior looks a very nice place to be.Mark.

It's a fancy font for I M, Irvine Motors who were up in Newcastle iirc.

Righto, that makes sense now that logic has been used! Thought it might be a north east car - CN registration is Gateshead IIRC.

I think I'd kill a helpless little newborn puppy to get my hands on that......

Thats gorgeous, its an early one too with the smaller side windows. It looks in simply epic condition, made about 1000% more incredible by the fact that its a Fiat from the 70's. The interior is simply like new.Trouser tentage.

Utterly stunning. Perfect, & I'm not using that word lightly.

my willy goes stiff looking at those pics - what a car - perfect colour inside and out owner should be proud......

What a car, that looks better than the seven year old one I owned twenty five years ago.Cars you wished you'd kept eh,mine was metallic gold with alloys in 2 litre flavour '78 on a T reg.I owned it for six months then gave it to my dad who promtly lost his license through drink driving in it (the twat).I'm not sure what happened to the car, think it got impounded, would've had it back had I not been rolling in my first V8 SD1.

I do think they got the '77 facelift spot on! Black grille, sports wheels, chunky mouldings and bumpers, black rear panel...transformed a rather plain looking thing into something sporty and bang up to date!

According to the UK sales brochure in 1978 , you could only get them in Silver, Metallic Blue or Gold. I do remember most seeming to be blue when I was a nipper!!

That is stunning. Simply perfect. There wasnt any 132s at Brooklands last weekend, yet there was three 131s. I dont think Ive ever seen a 132.
