Err, hello...

Been spending far too many hours on this site - so thought I'd better join up

Now, I'm crap with computers, but hopefully below will be a picture of my first car circa 1996

Posted Image

If that works, I'll post up some more old shite.

Oh and sorry, but I've never owned any Talbots... and can't actually help with cheap diet pills either (for those that were interested).

Posted

Greeting.I do hope you've had more tat than just a shabby Astroid. :P

Posted

Hullo! welcome to shitesville.are those Vauxhall dealer plates on the Asstra?

Posted

Wow, that's a proper early Mk2 that is. Can't remember the last time I saw one on a B plate. Noice.

Posted

Hi,Yes I've had more than a crappy Astra! javascript:emoticon(':D')I'm trying to find some more pics... Oh, & I don't think the plates had dealer names on them. It was probably stolen.

Posted

This was the second car I had. All 1300cc of it;

Posted Image

Then I bought this MK1 1100;

Posted Image

And got this out of the now defunct Ipswich Car Auctions.

Posted Image

It was shit. Like most stuff dumped in there...

Posted

Welcome along. I like that Astra, looks like the povo spec/mingebag special.

Posted

Nice collection of old shiters there!BTW, haven't got any kevlar golf trousers have you?

Posted

No, moved from there years ago. Do you like Dads 'rockery'? He was proud of that.Astra was a 1300L if IIRC.

Posted

Oooh,

Here's another. Bought for £100 about 2003 I think. 1.6i LX

Posted Image

Posted

Your from Ipswich? I wouldn't live in that shithole...Welcome BTW, nice to see another local shitter.

Posted

Your from Ipswich? I wouldn't live in that shithole...

Afraid so. Think I've seen your BMW around town a couple of Saturdays ago?

Posted

Hmm, that didn't quite work did it?

Posted

I guess you can't really miss my 02! It's broken down again at the moment though so you won't see it for a few weeks now as it's in Colchester. So what do you drive now then?

Posted

Are you......Local?With an intro like that you've obviously been spying on us for too long

With an intro like that you've obviously been spying on us for too long

Only about 6 months...

So what do you drive now then?

This; Posted Image

(Jesus, that picture is big - sorry!)

But I also yearn for one of these:

Posted Image

The local yoof would have it stolen within 5 minutes of me parking it up though.

Posted

The one next to this black one is yours then.

Posted Image

I guess your a member of EAPC as well then.

Posted

The one next to this black one is yours then.

It sure is! Can't see myself amongst the people in the pic though.

Hello. Nice to see someone remembering Ipswich Car Auctions - I used to love going down there for an night's entertainment, first at the one on Cecilia Street (where the cinema is now) and later on just off Wherstead Road. I sold a Sunny with them in 1994, but never plucked up courage to buy anything there apart from a box of magazines (should have done though). It was interesting to turn up early, to see what the traders brought there themselves and would then bid the price up. I think the auctioneer was called James? He always seemed a bit posh, but dodgy.I lived in town from 1989-95, I wish some of the old rubbish I remember from back then was still around.

 Kevin that "quote" made me laugh .. fantastically shite first post (In a good way) Welcome along to the world of shite !
Posted

Welcome aboard sir! Those MkI Golfs are such a lovely crisp design, I'm becoming a big fan these days. The so called 'Management'

lovely car that liking the one next to it too, interesting indicators etc :D

welcome to AS :D

Posted

Talking of indicators- some SAAB 900s had reversing lights in the front clusters. Just a bit of useless information. :D

Thanks for the welcome guys

Hahahaha, that's all I used to go down there for too! Preferred the Cecilia St set up, and I don't think they were down Wherstead Rd for that long - but that's where I got the Cav from. I was nearly cacking myself when bidding for that car, but must've only been about 20 I suppose... ''The auctioneer also used to do the car sales at Websters I think (if you remember them).

lovely car that liking the one next to it too

That one belongs to a mate of mine. Believe it or not it's done 275,000 miles! It's bloody quicker than mine too.
Posted

Welcome along, some nice tat you've had there.Shame about the diet pills though. I'm starting to think I might be needing them as my OSH habit isn't helping me lose weight.

Posted

Welcome aboard! Thats a mega early MKII Astra you had there and its not china blue! Good luck with the Sierra search, Id buy a MKI outright if one popped up near here.

Posted

Right, I've dug some more pics out from the sideboard.

First off, my old 1989 VW Polo. Bought for £60 from the 'death row' section of a local car lot. Went straight though an MOT. Seems odd to see one now with the bonnet paint intact & no stickers all over it.

Posted Image

Next up, Volvo 440 from the same yard. It was £90 with about 9mths MOT, but was rotten though.

This and the Polo pics were from about 2002.

Posted Image

'91 Mazda 323.

Great car. Never seen another one in this colour.

Posted Image

Bought this as a winter smoker 2002/2003. Dad had it off me afterwards. 4 yrs later it was stolen off his driveway & trashed.

Posted Image

Summer 2003, Pug 309 Look. £75.00 - Needing a new clutch.

Posted Image

Another Saab. Can't resist 'em - Oct 2003ish

Posted Image

Volvo 340 1.7 - GR8 4 DRIFTIN etc etc...

Posted Image

Will dig more out later ''

Posted

Shame about the diet pills, welcome anyway!
