"Well, viewers, I can hear it, even though I can't yet see it. Isn't that amazing, and it's still over a hundred miles away at this point in our journey".

Bloody hell, he doesn't not look like my dad, just with worse teeth.

I assume no roaming package is the reason for the silence since crossing the border

She used to be a regular vox popper on That's Life, Annie Mizen. There was always a tinge of dissappointment if she did not appear.

Yes, ex DaveQ, Ex Robson3022 and latterly ex Paulplom.

I almost spat my tea when I was told how much it was going for and booked the Megabus that very day.

Thankfully, Mrs_Pin's feet can reach the pedals on this one.

Averaged 41mpg on the run home from Newcastle to Bonnybridge and used exactly 1/4 tank. Drives very smoothly (its way quieter than the 75, by a country mile) no knocks and the brakes are good. There is a slight vibration under load at certain revs but it doesn't really affect anything, it still pulls well enough and the turbo makes the correct turbo noises. We think it's been mapped which could be the cause as the 75 does this sometimes too ( it's been remapped as well).

Overall very happy with it and a very capable motor car, the Mrs is happy too.

John, did you take a picture of that carving we found in Bamburgh that looks like me with glasses on?

"COURSE I DID".

Thanks John.

Yes it was mine, I bought it from a bloke in Middlesborough on FB marketplace.

Because of the careful and detailed inspection I always undertake when buying a new heap, it put the engine light on and went into limp mode on the A19 on the way back. After some investigation I found the turbo had a seized up VG mechanism (from damage, not the usual soot) and a chewed up turbine wheel so I put a refurb unit on.

I found that it regularly put the DPF light on and had to be blasted down the M62 to clear it, so the DPF was replaced with a bypass pipe and mapped out, power wise it's somewhere around stage 0.5-1, I got a stage 1 file from an online file service but it was a bit too smoky for me so I dialled it back a bit. I do still have original/stage 1 with/without DPF files if needed.

The turbo/exhaust got louder when the DPF pipe went on, the rest of the exhaust is standard. I did think at the time that a cat off a non-DPF B5, B6 Passat or A4 looked like it would fit in place of the bypass and this would quiet it down a bit. I don't think the noise is too bad but it was noticeably quieter with the DPF on.

As @Split_Pin mentions it deffo needs a cambelt but it's about £70-80 for a kit and pretty easy DIY if you take the front off.

Hit me up if you want a petrol friend for it lol.

If I had the space that would be on my drive as well.

Here's a picture from doing the cambelt on the petrol one showing the access, it's somewhere around 10-15min to get the bumper and front clip off with a bit of practice then you can literally pull up a chair and do the cambelt at your leisure.

I don't want, have space or want to insure another car since the audi went. I just can't stop looking though. It's like sone mental addiction that I need a fix to cure it. When I'm like this I don't stop till I find what I want. Why can't I just keep the money in the bank ffs ☹️

@gm's cooper s is looking very tempting. I wonder what the death on it is.

One of my wife's friends asked me why I had bought yet another car the other week, she says "is it just some kind of compulsion?"

The only answer I could give was: yes.
