That looks like a very comfy place to be! The design still looks rather modern to my eyes. 

Am sure a jetwashing will dispose of the flora that has gathered.

Irrespective of the trim level they're bloody comfy.  That's pretty well kitted out though, heated seats are nice in the winter.  Plus that should have cruise, which was the one blinding omission from the spec of the Activa.  Which bugged the hell out of me because it would not sit at a sensible pace on the motorway and not creep up for love nor money.  Which given how quickly it could waft up to without any detectable evidence of was worrying!

They all seem to have bashed front bumper corners!

Exclusive ones are especially lovely. I like how the passenger mirror dips when you put it in reverse. The lumbar support (electric pneumatic?) With two separate areas was excellent. My HDi has a retro fit cruise fitted as being a later one it was easy to do. Looking forward to following this!

You can feel even just looking at the pics how comfy those seats will be.

Can’t remember if it was a Sierra or a mk1 Mondeo we had years ago but the cloth seats in that were just ridiculously comfortable and I’ve never sat in anything as good since.. I feel this would come close though!

Had a Mk1 Sierra, that was bloody comfy. Daf 33 was also terribly comfy too. Can't wait to experience Xantia seat delights.

Well RC has collected her. John the PO remembered a sticky tacho needle which the local specialist sorted with a gentle thump lol.

Hopefully a RC update will occur soon.

The car is back safely in Newhaven.

Some electrical excitement on the way back but on the whole was ok. I suspect the brakes need a bit of attention in order to be roadworthy as they didn’t clean up much in the way back home.

updates were slightly delayed by having* to take my backup driver to the pub after. My brother cancelled last minute!

Series 2 car so *should* be less prone to the ignition switch issues as they had a relay fitted from new.

Still fry the transistors on the heater blower speed controller for a pastime though.

Rear brakes are prone to problems on these due to corrosion getting in between the caliper and the mounting point.  This causes the caliper to sit at an angle and cause issues.  Plus the rear brakes do very little work unless there's weight on the back anyway.

I couldn’t get it to make smoke again when I just went to revisit it so no idea what was unhappy, fan works on all speeds. Sidelights permanently on now though 🤔

IIRC no load on the back then barely any rear braking unless you stamp on it*, but if it's been sat corrosion seems likely to be a problem until needlescaled and swore at...

I am so glad everyone's been able to pitch in and save this one!

This was a flaw with my xm and xantia estate. I did 250 miles a week with just me in them and the back ends went hard, xantia gave me height corrector issues. 

Every few months I'd put something really heavy in the back and do a weeks commute to soften them back up again 🤣 

Keep some paving slabs in the boot Ken, she'll glide over everything then!
