Forgotten Cars

Different from, and yet similar to, the 'Cars you didn't know existed' discussion.

Every so often you'll come across a reference to some model or special edition or oddity that you were perfectly aware of in period, but have subsequently forgotten about entirely.  Seeing said reference will jog the memory, and then you'll forget about it again!  Let's collect examples, starting with the Nissan Almera Tino:

In production until 2006, apparently, but entirely forgotten by me until today!

My gran loved hers - she had a 1.8 SE in this grey, 05 plate. Replaced by a trio of Notes.

My entry for this would be the Fiat Idea, I only remembered this was a thing because of the recent Furious Driving video!

My contribution - the wonderful Hyundai Matrix. Largely snubbed and forgotten about due to it’s apparent lack of attractive styling, they are a competent and useful little car.

The Tino was rightfully forgotten, it was utterly dreadful, as forgettable as as four pints and a Mogodon.

My sister had one, also replaced by a Note that threw an EML today. Thanks, you reminded to pick up my code reader from the very site I'm at now!

Nissan qx facelift. The original qx is overlooked; the facelift was recieved to rapturous apathy in late 1999 and forgotten even in period by Nissan dealers.

it was indeed. One of the Journos (maybe Clarkson) said so does dog dirt, but I don't want that on my drive either

I had to drive one of these just last week. Even as I was driving it I was forgetting it. Nothing to recommend here.

Nissan are doing quite well in this game.

Saw one of these today and couldn’t remember the last time I had.

Nissan Tiida - a few on the Irish roads 10 years ago but rare enough to be justly forgotten.

Another entry for Fiat... the Croma. No, not the Type Four platform car from the 80s, this weird blobby estate thing from the early 2000s...

Let's throw another Nissan in the mix - I think most people would walk straight past the generation of Pathfinder (mid-00s to early 10s) we got in the UK and just assume it was one of the few Navaras that hasn't split in half already with a Truckman top.

As apparently driven by Michael Schumacher back in the day. I tried unsuccessfully to win one of these near me on an Ebay auction.

Daihatsu Materia... a shame this didn't do well, actually quite a funky looking little thing. Might have been popular with younger drivers if it hadn't shared a badge with your grandma's Charade.

More likely to see an HC Viva than one of these.

Or have you seen hundreds of them and just not noticed.

There's a facelifted one too that I'm not sure how to feel about. Imagine a Daewoo Tacuma and the Ford Fusion were both stuck in a microwave... yep, that's the end result.

I actually have a theory that all mid-size Fiats have some kind of curse upon their lineage that dooms them all to be forgotten. The 80s/90s Tipo and Tempra, the Bravo/Brava/Marea, the Stilo, the Bravo again, and although the current Tipo is a reasonable seller, I suspect in time it will go in the same direction.

From one of the Tat threads today: the Suzuki Kizashi. Lasted barely a year before Suzuki UK pulled the plug.

To be honest I think the fact it arrived here at all was an administrative mistake. 2.4NA pez, 4wd, CVT gearbox.

I used to work with someone who had one of those.  He was forever going on about how good it was, however he was also a right weirdo and not one whose opinions could be trusted.  The Croma shall remain a mystery to many and driven by few...
