Not shite, not cheap and not a car but this is stunning, i saw it last summer at a show and took a few photos as the seller has clearly seen as he's linked them to his advert hence how i found the ad, It's only covered 485 miles from 1965!

I think these were actually made by the tyre company, Bridgestone.

I've been furiously rubbing my trousers over that SD1 for a couple of weeks.

That Rover is the tits! As the vendor has suffered head trauma and can't remember anything it might be worth trying to pay him with Monopoly money and a secondhand copy of Richard Hammonds autobiography.

I went to see an SD1 vitesse earlier in the year advertised as a 4.0 with a highlift cam and stage 2 heads. When I went to see it they had no evidence that any of that had been done and said it was "cos the previous owner told us". Oh aye I'll pay 500 quid over what it was worth for an engine that may or may not exist.

Suzuki SJ, or what's left of it. No T+T...could this have anything to do with it having dumper tyres? Presumably they're road legal, but maybe there's some technicality? Speed rating? Not that an SJ's much quicker than your average dumper anyhow...

Ford Maverick makes perfect getaway vehicle. So unmemorable, that everyone who saw you do the bank job, will forget you were ever there. Paul McKenna and Derren Brown swear by these. True*.

Stilo Abarth, just needing a throttle body, apparently. World of pain, or bargainous buzzbomb? Does this have a Fiat engine in it? The details sound very similar to the Volvo B5 of that age.

Posted

I think it's an increased capacity Fiat engine, the original 2.0 was used in the Coupe and Marea/Bravo 2.0 20v.

A complete tw't to change the cambelt on apparently, and also they have a habit IIRC of lunching the Aux belt which then takes the cambelt with it. I heard of at least three that did that.

That one is a Sele-speed which is a gearbox shared with Alfas, which also have a crap reputation.

Posted

^Cheers! When I spotted it as 'SOR', I thought it would be the CelerySpeed bit that had given up. Drove a 145 with that box in once, got round the car park, gave up.

Posted

What is it with cambelts and Fiat and Alfa?

Uninterestingly you could get a later Stilo with the same engine but a manual gearbox. not all where slakkaspeeds.

The youngest old Panda in the UK :?: ...Probably.

2002 Panda 1100 minus gearbox - £300. Doubt it's worth getting back on the road, as it'll have a 'green' tax band and the insurance will class it under 'LHD modern'. An excellent source of rust free spares though - those doors look minty fresh.

I don't think it would be taxed based on co2 emissions as they weren't sold in the UK when the data was gathered.

Pandaselecta should buy that, he could simply install a can of chick peas where the gearbox should bee.

Anyone fancy a V6 coupé with bags of test for under a monkey?

No? Howzabout with 12 months for £550? What goes wrong with these then?:shock::shock:

'Reg. is transferable once DVLA requirements satisfied'

Satisfaction being someone spending the equivelant of the world's debt to put this heap of shit anywhere near roadworthy condition. Or just take the vin plate off and spot weld it to another Minor that might pass another MOT without bankrupting several Swiss banks.

That 'kit' car is very odd. Four stud wheels and they look too small to clear the kingpins. Maybe suspension nabbed from something else?

Posted

Does it have a K-series engine? Only it seems to have in/out steam couplings under the front bumper.

So there's the potential that the others didn't look like an accident between a council gangmower trailer and an off-road buggy?

Christ alive, that's gorgeous. That has 'Le Mans Classic 2012 back up vehicle' written all over it.

However, the new piece of French shite I have just purchased may just have to do..............

That's what I thought, wonder if the chassis has been replaced with two Austin rear subframes welded back to back.

Or just cable tied, judging by that front camber

Tidy looking wedge hasn't been taxed for yonks. WARNING: Lengthy 'comical' write-up contains almost no useful information.

£1000 BIN sounds pretty good for this given how minty it looks.
