*Note, None of the electrics will work, the gearbox will go all French on it, and it was built by a bunch of Communistcheeseeatingsurrendermonkys*

So the Czechs were presumably a bunch of sausage eating communists building Nazi cars then?

That E12 is class, and proper early - I had a 525 on an M plate which was the earliest one I'd seen. Right on budget as well. It's not exactly next door though...

Oh, and my E3 now has black & silver plates - and I think it looks much better for it.

Sorry Trigsville, didn't realise it was the same one. It looks far nicer in the latest listing though (said he, clutching at straws) but it makes you wonder if the latest owner took it for an MOT and they laughed at him and whatnot.

Oh, that early E12 you posted about is bloody ace. Can't believe they made them that early always thought they came in about 1975. Whatever though it's bloody lovely.

LA LA LA Im not listening.

That's nice - probably the second most desirable of all the E3s, and Roald Dahl had one - but it's a LWB so it'd be too long for Trigbert's garage.

Arrrrrrrrrgh! Why do things like this turn up at exactly the wrong time? I've been after a 3.3 Li for years and right now I can't afford it as the 604 is due to return shortly. Bugger.

Might be legal - first registered 4/4/73. If it was built beofre Jan 1 (quite likely for a 70s import) it's ok with black plates.

That Austin on swapz is Steveaustin off here's one Billy.

The E21 is proper nice, I've spend a while looking at it earlier and would love it but really is too far, especially for a car that's spent so long off the road.

Trigger, I'd be all over that Tina estate that Billy just posted. Totally useable, instant cool, free tax, how can you lose?

Posted

That 'Tina is nice, I saw it over on retro rides the other day, It's up for £1800 ovno on there, Again it's still a 4 hour drive away near Grimsby, though saying that the 1602 came from near there in Brigg, I'm just a bit fussy and worry about buying something which will end up being a money pit.

I nearly bought a Mk1 estate before the Kadett but bottled out, that one was dearer then this and in the same condition.

And those three bearing crank 1.2s are a bit shit too, which doesn't help.

Yo Trig! I work in the 'ming... do you want me to have a gander at that cortina for you?

Nice docks there too, GR8 4 crane perving

Posted

Thanks for the offer Mike, I'm going to have to give it some thought, It's a very cool car but it's also underpowered.

Posted

What about the Allegro Equipe Trigg?? I shall respect you forever if you get it! It's a nice one despite the fuzzy pics, been restored.

You could recreate the bonnet draping photoshoot too..... :P

Posted

What ho Triggle Rock, you could always lob a 1.6 crossflow in the Cortina so it still looks good but goes (pretty) well too.

I just looked at that All Aggro. It has so much Shite winnage does that car.
