Look at this thoroughly miserable motoring experience. Does it even have a radio, or provision to have one?

I had a 957cc one of these when I was 19, the car was only a year old and was awful...gutless, noisy and handled terribly due to the 135 tyres it had.

After about 3 months I chopped it in for a D plate Escort 1.3 Popular which although not that much more plush trim wise felt like a Bentley in comparison.

Ha ha 135 tyres! ONly WINNARS need apply.

That Metro looks great! I'd be all over it if I had £600 lying around.

Local Leicester registration, too. Probably because nobody's been crazy enough to dare driving it further out than Fosse Park.

Vel (dis) Satis (faction) dizzler anyone?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-RENAULT- ... 35b4819b9c

'currently showing Service light together with voice message "Power assisted steering fault: consult your Renault dealer". Car has been diagnosed by Renault dealer who say it needs 2 new glowplugs (No2 and No4 cylinders), and that these may well be the cause (by interfering with voltage to electric PAS) but that cannot be confirmed without replacing the glowplugs'

Fuggin hell, that Vel had a £250 reserve on it! Surely a PAS fault can't knock that much off the value? If it does, I'm going to find myself having to trek up to Crewe in a week's time.

Ah well give me a shout if you need to pop round to my workshop for a few emergency repairs before heading home!

I'm kind of in the market for a Princess but wanted a road going example. However, its localish and fecking horny. I'm going to wait and see if there is any interest and maybe luzz in a bid...

Sadly there aren’t many people putting money into that model, Datman has had a tax exempt example up for sale for yonks and seems to be stuck with it. I know of a local, one-owner example that I’d like to be able to buy one day, but I wouldn’t want to pay a huge amount for it.

I'd really like one of those little 100A's but my recollection of them up here in Scotland was that most of them had fallen/rusted to bits by the mid-80's...

EFA! I don't remember them at all from my childhood in the 70s, and I was an anorak even then (I used to go around the big car park in town writing down reg numbers while Mum was getting the shoping/messages).

They were everywhere in the late-seventies and died by the late-eighties. In 1977 my Uncle had one in that burnt orange.

.../\ That Capri looks gr9.9 love it, i would put the engine back to a std. 2.0 with a 5 speed box tho. Shame i haven't got £1,250 otherwise i'b be off darn sarf on the urry up.

That Datsun further up, why could it not be resurected? that is also gr9.

I remember in the early/mid 70's when Janspeed got hold on one and made it go like a little bastard.

As DVLA have removed it from their lists, it has been given a scrap marker. Good luck with that.

It is dead, ceased to be, gone to meet its maker. It has joined the choir invisible. It is an ex-Datsun.

If I was in the market for a 50mpg old motor and didn't want to trust something French, I'd be honking the big purple horn over this beauty.

These are quite rare in the UK - a Mk2 Golf turbo diesel. They're everywhere in France, my brother in law had one which he thrashed without mercy and it still came up smiling.

This one is just on the brink of getting slammed and rusty, or with a weekend's work could live for another 20 years
