Norwegian tat (cars for sale in Norway)

I remember seeing quite a mix of shite when I went to Norway a few years back. A couple of Mk2 Granadas, a Saab 96, a Lada Niva, a Hillman Husky and an Austin A35 are the ones that stick in my head. I'll see if I can find some photos from that holiday.

My Granda had a red Uno, a 0.9. Towed a caravan with it... somehow.

This is something I would have liked to have seen. Can think that it did not go very fast.

Yes, feel free to share photos if you have them. I and probably several others will like it.

Can't think of anything less suitable to tow this than a 0.9 Uno. This is perfect.

He is a legend. If any pictures exist of this, there is a thread here for it and there are probably many of us who want to see this.

Since several of you like the cars I have posted in the ebay tat thread, I will continue with a separate thread here. So here vehicles for sale in Norway are posted. And I'm going to focus mostly on older vehicles. And I will stick mostly to cars under 8000 pounds.

So I start this with something that is very Norwegian a 1960 Volvo Amazon

Excellent work! Some fine examples there, even if the wheel is on the wrong side!

I ended up on Wikitravel ‘Norway’ last night till the small hours, apparently haggling is a big no-no there?

Was it something special you were looking for or was it just for fun?

This has the B16 engine and a faint noise in the gearbox so this probably affects the price a bit but do not remember what Volvo Amazon in good condition costs here so can not say much about the price. But it's a great car.

Both! I have worked in Norway for the last 25 years both on and offshore. I nearly bought a few times but missed out. The one that still hurts was a Saab 93 two stroke but I hesitated as it was located at the very top end of Norway. By the time I discovered that Hurtigruten was not that expensive (relatively) to get it back to Stavanger, it had been sold. Several times I missed out on Volvo PV544 Vans (always the ones in reach came up for sale when I was offshore) and still occasionally look at the ex army BVs, but we don't get enough snow here in Scotland anymore to justify it.

Will be back in Norway soon so will have to start looking again.

It depends. On used cars, I think it's normal even though I'm bad at it, but I'm not so sure about anything else, I've never experienced it anyway.

Then I understand why you have been on finn.no. But it's a shame you never got to buy any of these. And with the PV544 van these I'm used to us calling these Duett but maybe it's different in the UK? And if you are going to Norway in the future and may need some help then just ask I will be happy to help if I can.

@Dyslexic Viking, am I the first to suggest you rename this thread "Norwegian Would"?

Sorry but I do not understand this one.

I lived in Tonsberg for a while, still visit quite often.

I spotted this UK plated Mulsanne Turbo a few years back near Sandefjord. Dunno the back story!

Some great stuff at the local car club, https://www.motorpunk.co.uk/out-and-about/stokke-classic-car-club/

I used to drive a UK plated XJ6 around Vestfold, setting off the cameras on the E18, parking like an arsehole, I had registered the car to "john 3 jags prescott, london" when I exported it. It got scrapped in the end. Great times :)

Thanks for sharing this found it interesting. And will assume that the Norwegian authorities were not so happy about this but luckily you were not caught. It's an interesting story.

Don't worry about it. I don't understand what I'm on about most of the time myself
