It's only 210 miles and 3.5 hours according to googly mips.

Which makes it almost viable for a day out.

235 miles and 4 hours for me... I’m genuinely tempted...

That counts as local ish. I wonder if I can get the ovlov finished in time..

This was on last year, was well run and a good day out.

It's also dog-friendly, in case that's a consideration for anyone and we got parked in the shade last year.

It's quite close to me.

So could be interested in going too.

I would be up for this.

Only 160 miles...

I was about to ask where it was, but you've answered for me.

Convoy down? Which car would the show-goers prefer though? E36 or Saab 9000?

Happy to convoy, as long as we go over the hills to Perth not the dull A90.  Will try to take the Cortina so it might take a while.  And definitely the Saab.

Excuse me?  They can FRO with that.

I simply don't believe that charging your exhibitors is sustainable, because without exhibitors, what show have you got?

Chumly charges the exhibitors...

I used to visit Kames for the RSOC day (Capri Club attended along with many Fords not necessarily RS), it’s not far for me. Track fun was always a good watch. I’ll hopefully make it along but I’ve no car to enter for exhibition at the moment.

The road to Muirkirk from Strathaven is a good run if anyone’s aiming to alter routes there / home.

And how long is it since I've been there?  It's also as far as I was prepared to go for a one-day event, before my brain surgery.  I'm not able to do that kind of return trip in a day any more, I would have to book an overnight stay at the far end for the nights before and after the event.  MrsR won't go anywhere in Huggy any more so I'd be on my own (and so would she, importantly), and we're assuming Huggy would play!

Circumstances change, young man, and with them, one's whole life.

Anyway, it isn't all about me.  I hope whoever does go, has a lovely day.

Easy*!

I'd be tempted to find accommodation...

I don't think that's the place. It's Muirkirk, near Cumnock.

This. And it's not Kaimes near Edinburgh either.

Ah, cheers lads.

Think I've found it now.

There are a surprising number of places called Kames.

I don’t think that is the right place either.
I can’t remember where it is but I’ve been a couple of times years ago.

Website says:

Kames

The Kames track is situated just off the A70 in Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. It is 13 miles west of junction 12 on the M74 and 10 miles east of Cumnock, 9 miles west of Strathaven.

This is the one! Uses to do sprints and autotests here back in the day. It's a tight little track but good fun.

I see my subtle sarcasm earlier was too subtle.

It’s in the arse end of no where but it is a good show . I’ve been a few times but could never be bothered to show a car .

There’s  a fantastic back road from newmilns that takes you there . I had some great runs up there in the z4.

The road down from Strathaven is good too, as is the road across from the M74.

and its mainly down hill aswell (literally) which helps when on a honda-davidson c90....

Yes there is lots of hoonable roads, sorn to muirkirk is another. Pity most are badly potholed

So now we have worked out where Keynes is, are we doing a scotoshite entry? It sounds a bit draconian, there's no way we can all arrive together (I am highly likely to have at least one FTP).
