Austin Princess exhausts, particularly access and fixing them.

Is it the same crap as Mini exhausts, an inaccessible manifold/downpipe join which cannot be made to stop leaking?

Posted

Yes. It took two attempts, a combined effort of 5 people and 8 hours over two days to finally refit my exhaust and at 21:40ish last night I got a call from my brother to tell me he'd finally fitted the last bit and run the engine up to temperature to cure it all. If it goes again, I'll be taking it to a garage and they can sort it out because I'm never having anything to do with that fucking exhaust ever again.

Additionally, in other grump news, I don't appreciate getting abuse via PM for citing an opinion online, nor for having someone make personal attacks on me through said PMs when I try to calmly, maturely and sensibly explain why my opinion was what it was. I'm not naming names, or posting the PM log up publicly because that's not what I'm about, but it really did get on my wick, especially on top of some of the personal stuff I'm going through right now which I also won't be making public. Sometimes, the internet really pisses me off.

We (Liverpool) have just emulated the phenomenal success of Blackburn, Wolverhampton and Chelsea by sacking our manager after one season of below-standard performance (finishing 8/20 and winning a trophy). Unlike the aforementioned other three, however, this manager is our second most successful in the club's history.

This is what happens when you get bought out by elusive foreign investors.

Carrying on the football theme, apparently Mick McCarthy is in the running for the Villa job. Nothing against him as a person but after the debacle which was Alex Mcleish I can't believe the owners would go and appoint another unpopular (with the fans) and not hugely sucessful manager! Especially after the statement the club issued the other day about building a platform for the future and invigorating the fans again!!

Isn't this your lowest points tally of EVAH in (your) top flight football campaign? Princess Kenny was a belting player in a belting team all those years ago, but as a manager he was crap. That said as a (n armchair) Chelsea fan I'm sorry he's gone because he was laughably poor as a manager.

I was told he was summonsed to America and 'they' were going to get rid of him using the Suarez affair as the reason, but deep down it was because of results. If the rumour of you getting Spanish Bob as a boss are true then I feel sorry for your suppoters and Martinez himself.

He is NOT a top four manager, more of a Moyes type where he can save a small/medium club from relegation with the odd good result and would need more practise at a bigger club than Wigan before being let loose on a 'big' team imho.

Nothing against RM, he was a Chester player (and player manager I think) at one point and is a brilliant bloke, was a cracking player and a good manager at a smaller club. I'd hate to see him go to Liverpool, be given 3.5 minutes then roundly abused like Hodgson was, just because they didn't have the LFC history that old mingeface Princess Kenny had.

Oh aye, talking of football (sorry, folks) the decision to take Downing to the Euro's was bad enough, but to see that one bob cock knocker Carroll is a complete joke.

I don't think he's a bad manager, but it's hardly a statement of "we're taking this club forward". As for Dalgliesh, I think he was basically out of date. The game has changed an awful lot since he was last a manager and he seemed to be stuck in the past. The way he dealt with the press is a perfect example.

My grump is weighing in my old alloys netted me a total of £8.32, and I appear to have left my driving licence down there. So, is there such a thing as a trustworthy scrap metal dealer......?

I'm grumpy every time I remember Downing is a Liverpool player. He's no better than Jordan Henderson.

Not the best season to be a Liverpool fan. Only one cup is not enough. Finishing below Everton is a disgrace.

Happiest result of the season was provided by Man City. Not often you'll hear a Liverpool fan say that.

And Bolls, c'mon man, spluff the beans on the Triumph molester.

Hodgson is fooked anyway. Not wanted by the supporters, the players nor the press or media he will need to win the European Championships to save his arse.

Its a bit like Cloughie all over again, everybody wanted him but his face didnt fit the F.A and their idea of an England manager.

As a Spurs supporter, I was quite happy for Harry to have been given the England job, maybe we would have got a manager next season who wouldnt throw away umpteen fucking points and have us, yet again, sitting behind the Gooners.

Yes, us Yids are fickle fuckers.

P.S Chelsea can have Modric...for a price.

Well he obviously hasn't been very good as a manager, not player-manager, this time around, but is firing him so soon really the best idea? What's important is he's a club legend and the fans love him, sort of the precise opposite of these Keans and McLeishs. Is parachuting in some semi-proven outsider really going to sort our woes? You're the Chelsea fan, perhaps tell us the answer  . Your point about RM is good and it's a shame to see these small-time successes thrown in naively at the deep end then sacked as they naturally can't handle it. Oh well, hopefully we'll just get a past glory man (Rafa?) like you've got with Di Matteo.

I think the England squad is pretty wank too. Ambivalent about Carroll he's no worse than Sturridge and the other yoof, shame Crouch has been left out though. Shame Terry's in though as I reckon he's just not good enough to warrant all his controversies. Oh well, maybe we'll get RH back after the summer when he's inevitably sacked by the FA :D

Was Harry really the "people's choice"? I know The Sun, who coincidentally enough writes a column for them, had him as the default choice but he's won one major trophy and has proven to have a poor grasp of tactics and signings. We should have stuck with Capello who'd won such trinkets as Serie A and the Champions League , but of course the gutter press didn't like him because HES NOT FROM INGERLAND AND HAS NO PASHUN. Hodgson is a good manager and a nice guy, but the press will turn on him as soon as we start losing. Which we will, because we aren't that good.

Still, I'm sure Harry will be along to provide plenty of soundbites (through his car window, obviously)

I agree, Will (about Chelsea) and IF (big if] Chelsea win the Champions League and don't give di Matteo a contract then it'll prove what a w*nker Abramovitch really is. My guess is he'll go for another 'big name' boss who'll do averagely in his first season, get the boot and a massive payout and things will be the same.

I'd personally make it my mission to bin Terry at Chelsea, it's blatantly obvious he's been calling the shots there and causing trouble. 'Fat Frank' has got another season or two left him at the club and I reckon he'd be a lot less 'vocal' in the dressing room once Terry was fucked off. As for Terry and England then it wasn't a clever choice but probably still a better one than Ferdinand.

Anyhow it'll all end the same as ever: press and (some) supporters build the team up. Expectations are massive. Hype is all around. People forget are national team are actually pretty shit after the first couple of games where older players try harder to impress new boss. England go out early. media slags manager off. Manager keeps job for ages. Then it all starts again with a new manager.

To be honest I'd just bin loads of the current squad, get some decent kids in no matter what league they play in and go from there.

Have to be honest, as much as I love him I'm not sure he's the long term solution. The squad needs a major rebuild, and the lack of a plan B against Liverpool in the final, and the result in the league, do concern me

Hodgson has a track record of managing international sides with some pretty good performances out there. I'm fairly happy with him, the press will just never except that we don't have good enough players to win anything IMHO all the "lionz led bi donkeez" bollocks the sun will come up with when we don't which just proves that it is a paper that isn't even fit to wipe your arse with.

I think the Liverpool situation proves that certain players/managers fit in certain clubs.

Downing was a very good player for us (Villa) and yet has not done well at Liverpool, Carroll was very good at Newcastle but ditto at Liverpool. And as for Hodgson he has done well at Fulham and West Brom but could not cut it at Liverpool.

As for Villa I think McCarthy is a good manager for a relegation fight, he certainly has passion and brings on the young players but his brand of football is pretty miserable.

Not sure what the fuss is over Martinez or Lambert as the premiership has been poor this year and I don't think finishing mid table is exactly a great achievement at the moment.

Does anybody else remember (or in my case still have) those England coins Sainsbury's did for the World Cup '98? They were wicked!

I think what Hodgson should do is get rid of pretty much the current squad except for Hart and maybe Lampard and bring in a lot of what are very promising young players. However he won't as he knows the press will be on his back from day one! As usual in the country it is the media which f***s the situation up as they will not leave anyone to get on with the job and creates unnecessary histeria. Creating a headline is more important to the newpapers than England actually winning anything!!

I'm owed £112.75 by an agency I went out of my way to help at short notice. The agency are refusing to pay me because the client I was working for fell out with said agency and hasn't paid their bill for my time (About £150+VAT). The days money I'm owed is from four weeks ago last Friday and is now three weeks overdue.

I always thought that my contract was with the agency and not the client.

FUCK YOU! PAY ME!!!!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! From the dolomite forum.

I knew the rotoflex couplings needed urgent replacement, but ive been putting it off, mostly because ive been skint.

Well today, driving into town i hear a loud banging while moving...whoops, i guessed what it was but i had to drive home, the sound stopped halfway home so i guessed something had come off!

IMAG2524.jpg

Can't have been that urgent if you kept putting it off...
