Much in the vain of whoever it was that posted about some dipshit at their work saying that we're sat in their truck for hours I've had similar today.

I volunteer at my sons school, on Tuesday I work with a teaching assistant in her early 20's she's run off straight to the head as I accidentally said "stop jumping at the window you git" to my own son... OK understandable, not good but then not that bad.

But also one kid had done a bit of research on Nelson Mandela, said he'd been in prison a long time. "what was he in prison for?" she asked, kid didn't know. "he was sent for being a terrorist" says I. Apparently she doesn't like that. So historical fact (in different if it was right or wrong) now has to be ignored does it??

It's shit like this why I've left two jobs before and making me start to think why the fuck do I bother. The children should be treat like people not babies at the moment they are doing a 'heros and villains' topic, you can't do that without learning both sides of the story.

What an absolute idiot she sounds, at least you didnt say he got sent to prison for being black and refusing to be downtrodden believing in equal rights, she probably wouldve rung the police at that

Posted

(edit:^^^ I once got in trouble in diversity* training for asking why we can't treat everyone equally)

It's the blatant ignoring of facts so that everything is nicey nicey and then not having any balls to speak to me but to run to the head.

She's the kind of wet bastard that get offended* at everything and anything making sure everyone on social* media (hate that term) knows it but she wouldn't be able to actually say it to have the people or things that have offended her*

Anyway rant over, she can such my balls if she thinks I'm changing how i treat them. The kids aren't stupid and don't need talking down to.

I thought so too, but Lidl had a fair few brand names, and the prices seemed higher than Aldi, where I only saw one branded product. We did a 'fuck it it's payday' shop in Aldi, buying tons of crap we don't need, and stuff we only buy on payday and it was only £60!

I don't do the shopping though so haven't put much thought into it.

Don't get me started on teaching assistants

(I'm sure there are some lovely capable ones out there who are massively under valued for the worked they do including providing cover so the teacher can have one day a week none contact time without the school having to pay for a qualified teacher for the day)

but all the ones we've come across are arseholes with a god complex who should not be left alone with scissors let alone a class of 30 kids, they routinely lie to cover their own backs and can't explain the basics of the lessons they are supposed to be teaching.

Come the revolution......

Teaching assistants aren't teachers. A lot of them think they should be, but aren't.

Agreed. It's about 70% of a teaching role with 100% of the associated stress.

... and even less support.

My mum was a teaching assistant to autistic kids for over 25 years, the lack of support from senior staff at the school being what finally made her give it up.

From some of the things that she's said about the job, politics and attitudes in the school system, I honestly can't understand how she did it for so long, as there's surely only so far that continuing in the interests and for the benefit of the kids can get you.

It's amazing how she's brightened up and developed a real zest for life since leaving - I don't think either she or any of us had realised the negative effect that job was having on her.

Phlebotomists.

Wife had some blood tests done at the beginning of December for a thyroid problem at glan clwyd hospital.

Today she gets a letter dated 14th of January explaining that due to the samples being in the wrong specimen bottles the cath lab refused them so can we waste another morning waiting in the queue for more tests.

Nearly 10 weeks ago she had the tests done, not at a local surgery but at ONE OF THE LARGEST HOSPITALS IN WALES!!!

Fuckers.

Have you considered making a complaint to the relevant authority as well as on an internet forum for shite car enthusiasts?

I wanted to be a teaching assistant because I didn't want to be a teacher and I'm really good with children.

It's really rewarding when you know they're happy and interested in what you're doing and come up asking you things genuinely interested in the reply or really proud when you take interest in something they've done. Of course there's the kids that just mess about but then there always will be.

Most of the teachers just seem disinterested, love to shout and have things quite. I've learned over the years that most people are happier and work harder when they're given a bit of leeway.

I cleaned up the XM today and it was looking pretty smart when I lowered all the windows a bit to clean the edge where they go into the seal. The rear nearside made a funny noise, opened a bit and then refused to go up or down.

Bum.

Isn't Lidle much the same as Aldi? I struggle to tell them apart. Just Aldidle really!

Lol

Depends on the location to be honest. I like the Lidl in camberley but the Aldi on the other side of the road is very claustrophobic. Although I've not been in since it was revamped and expanded. The Aldi in Bracknell birch hill is in a poor area but the shop is good.

Lidl I prefer for food - whole Serrano cured ham with stand for £30 at Christmas! Lidl deluxe range is nice - provided my Christmas dinner too, But Aldi has excellent car, bike and gardening offers. Aldi also do twenty tins of Italian peeled plum tomatoes for £4! Their 210 litre garden water butts are £20 - got three in the c5's boot. Wine range in both is good- Aldi is the largest wine buyer in Europe. I also go to Lidl for extra virgin olive oil- £2.49 for the primadoro litre. I don't like eithers bread though and their lemons don't last well. Oh and Lidl's large free range chicken is something like £4 compared to £12 at Waitrose.

Sign up for their offer emails - I bought a garmin computer for the bike from Aldi last year for less than £80 when the cheapest elsewhere was £125.

Just a shame NASA tidied up the original photos and got the cross hairs wrong ;-). Optical telescopes should be almost good enough by now to see the remains of the lunar landers. Should put an end to the conspiracy theories.

Sounds a bit like me trying to pay the London Congestion Charge yesterday , gave up at about 11.30 . Message just kept coming up "Something has gone wrong" !!!

Tried again this morning , even though it'll now cost £14 instead of £11.50 and the stupid fucking thing won't accept 4 different cards I've tried, is there a number? Is there feck as like, just wait for the fine and appeal.

Don't get me fuckin' started!!! It would appear that all those phoning in with payment will have their charges waived but all those on auto-are being charged as normal!!! (I'm on auto-pay).

They have screwed up my resident's discount 4 times due to the web-site being terminally rogered, and I am still paying full whack. Let's see how quickly they will refund 90% of £414!!

Shower of absolute shits!!

O yeah, and by some miracle they discount the Jag, but I spend the money saved with the discount on petrol before I reach Westminster Bridge!!!!

There's already photos of the landing sites from satellites in Lunar or it. Anyway these aren't needed as they left behind laser reflectors, with the right kit you can hit them from Earth and get a signal back.

Yes, but the conspiracy nuts don't believe the satellite images and probably think lasers are the work of the devil

:-). I had a talk years ago at a book signing in Windsor with the journalist and writer Jon ronson who briefly mentioned doubts about the moon landings. I think he'd been too deeply entrenched in researching THEM, the bilderberg group at the time.

The wagon in the third lane may not be being naughty if it's the type of junction were the left lane becomes the slip road and the other 2 lanes continue to become 3 again.

Why grump about Aldi and Lidl?

Just shop at your local greengrocer and butcher instead?

Excellent plan. Just let me get some plutonium for the Delorean and I'll be back with a cabbage and some fruit in time for lunch.

My "local" butcher/grocer/fish stall is 8 miles away.

The grocers allow me to take my dog in and give him treats which steered my hand

Well if you want a cabbage and have a time machine, go and see Diocletian at his villa in Split.  He gave up an empire for them, so they must be good ones.
