FUCKING STUDENTS! I apologise to anyone here who is in further education.Had a delivery at Edge Hill University (formerly Ormskirk Sec Modern) and it was without doubt one of the most miserable places I have ever been to. Is it just me, or do a lot of modern cars have tiny front indicators hidden away in the top corner of massive light units that make them quite hard to see? The few times they do bother to indicate, on certain cars I don't see them until the last moment

Cars should also be made to have the old style orange plastic indicator surrounds as opposed to the more recent trend for transparent plastic. Its fugging useless.

Modern VWs are the worst at it, not to mention the rear lights on those Pug cabrio things but today a bloke in a black last type Focus turned in on me as I couldn't see his front indicator until he was already another 45Ëš turned (i.e. it was only seen properly mostly straight on)Jeez - how crap are moderns?

I agree about the rear lenses on modern cars, I was following something the other day and nearly hit them up the arse as i couldn't see the rear brake lights.And them wanky Lexus lights that chavs with 206's and Clios insist on fitting need banning as well, I can never see the indicators on them, They should be a MOT failer.

Phoned up a classic car dealer recently about some old tat that was "nicely patinated" bodywork The shed in question didn't have an MOT, but the spod selling it "offered" [after much persuasion] to send me a scan of the MOT failure sheet.

3 pages long, with just about every load bearing point on the car suffering from "nice patination", i.e. rampant gribble.

We had a power cut last night! I know what you're thinking; 'so the fakk what" but I can't say I have had one since I was about 10 and living in a rural area.It lasted a whole 2.5 hours and had a definite early 80s late 70s ambiance.Except today everyone's frikkin house alarms going off. Took Mrs P to Heathrow this morning. Usual morning M25 blues but was stunned to see a 56 plate Astra with a flat front tyre going 70 in the middle lane while the miniture woman driver fiddled about with her phone. WTF!! Apparently there was a nasty shunt at the Dartford Tunnel this morning involving three closed lanes and an air ambulance. Can never help but feel that bloody mobiles are involved in a lot of these incidents.And as an extra grump - was supposed to be going on hols with Mrs P but had a Crohns flare up at the weekend, am now on mega steroids and am not allowed to fly for a month in case of additional complications. GAH! Mind you I now have the strength of ten men, but have a strong urge to wipe all the scum off the streets. Hirst, can I borrow a Taxi??
