Bin the cars off by all means but keep the spares.   Buying those again will seriously piss you off if you ever re-find the urge.  Wish I had.....

I'm suffering from really low mojo. I feel like binning off all the old cars I have, the Allegro, the Minor and all the spares and just finishing with old cars. I don't get time to work on them so I have to pay others to do it which means I never have any money for family or household stuff. I can feel the urge to weigh the whole lot in soon.

Nope!

Wait until the sun shines. Warm spring/summer days bring back the mojo like nothing else!

Just phoned the doc to try and sort out an HGV medical now I'm CPC'd. £132 quid!, for half an hour. Feck that. Anyone any ideas/ a doctor?

What the fuck is a "warm day"? I'm not familiar with the concept.

Got some petrol in the 1850HL's tank t'other day after opening the fuel filler cap with a screwdriver/hammer combo, unfortunately none of the petrol is completing the journey to the carbs so the fuel line is blocked somewhere. Probably in the tank, fuck my life.

If you have a poke nose at Trucknet UK, go to the newby's section, one of the stickies is summat titled a fool and their money,  there's a list of doctors who offer HGV medicals for our sort of money, mine cost £45.

I have got dirty hands!

I have not had dirty hands for years!

I do not like having dirty hands.

I also have cuts and abrasions all over my poor hands and red stuff has leaked out of me in a couple of places.

I was busily trying to persuade a plug back into a hole that was totally blind and worked out the last time I did anything like this was about four years ago!

I hurt like a bastard now and will be whinging and whining like a bitch later/tomorrow so I have made an early start by posting this!  :)

Ritchies in Glasgow are about 60 quid but I think they only do medicals on a Friday; used to be old Dr Duff who did them, normally shitfaced, for about 40 quid but I think he's retired.

Appreciate it probably won't be much help, but a lot of people go through this. Don't do anything too rash with your motors, but don't let them burden you either.

No. It's an opinion...

I know it's his opinion, I had one too about all the bad reviews I read of the place before hand thinking 'no it can't be that bad they have an amazing collection of unique stuff'.

But then I saw it and it's like :-( such a let down. One of the most significant things is a piece of the World Trade Centre but it looks like it's just been dumped on the floor and people were ignoring it.

Sadness rather than a grump, but that realisation a long term friendship has ended. Not because of an argument or unforgivable betrayal, but that they've simply moved on

^ It happens. Others will arrive at varying points.

One of the less forgivable aspects of ageing is that this happens for some reason.   I lost a few mates after school and the immediate years of apprenticeships and college etc. which is I suppose understandable.   Then again a few years later when we all married and started families.   Now it seems there is a further period of this which seems to coincide with approaching retirement, onset of grandkids and generally slowing down.

I have a totally different set of mates and friends to those that I had before and its all taken place over the last few years.   I still miss one or two old pals and phone them up from time to time but it is noticeably Not The Same any more.   It is a shame, I agree.

it wasn't ideal being ill when I logged off an mot at 8pm and had to put all the cars away and then change a wheel for a customer and I couldn't talk or lift anything properly and then drive home in a BMW z3 with a broken coil Spring getting home at half nine on a Monday

Sell the Alllegro, buy two years lock up with the profits, park minor up, come back in 2018 refreshed.

I reckon it's the time of year, there's been a lot of similar comments on here of late. I actually had a dream the other night, about getting a Dacia on finance.

Alex, a lot of it is the life circles we move in, a lot of it is to do with common interests we shared, be it a college course or a car club, once that common interest is removed, often you find that there isn't much else that overlaps, and people do drift apart. I can't offer any real advice for changing that, save for finding new interests and branching out through that. I know these days I struggle to get past the "mates" stage where, sure you know each others name and a bit of surface info, but beyond that? Fucked if I know.

I was working on the car, I am incapable of having sex with the kind of aggression/kinkyness needed to inflict these horrendous injuries on my hands.... my cock though has on occasion looked like uncooked liver!

TMI?

Grump.

Yesterday, while working on the car (in case there was any doubt after the above:)  ) I had a bit of a run in with a guttering expert. Not a bad 'run in' just he was a real know it all who was determined to show me up for the tosser I am. He was an older, fat bloke and didn't look like he could get up a ladder if his life depended on it, but I digress....

'You broken it then?' He shouts.

'No, just changing the plugs.'

'12 of them in that!' He says...

'N'ah, only 8'

'Oh, so the baby engine'

'Nearly 7 litres so not really a baby!'

'6.9 actually !' he shouts back. 'Poor mans Rolls Royce that, nothing like as good'

Okay..... The fact that the Turbo Bentleys were more (at list) than the equivalent RR is neither here nor there. It's also 6.75 litres if you want to be accurate....

Didn't really annoy me,just... niggled a bit. Not so much what he said as the way he said it. There was a thread somewhere (may have been a RR and B forum) about people going on about how much better RRs are than Bentleys. Until the turbos, they were identical apart from badges!

She has just amply demonstrated why she's not invited.

well you know, it is nice to be invited to things, even if said friend then declines the offer.

depends what the weekend is, if it the usual jolly boys outing that requires getting pissed and going to a titty bar, then lady friend probably would not want to go anyway.

I would think its the been excluded that has really pissed her off, as I know it would if it was me.

We have been doing them for years, normally we go to football, get absolutely wasted etc.

It happens twice a year and it basically 12 guys reliving their youth as if it was 1995. We book a bunkhouse to ourselves with shared facilities and bunk rooms.

She hasnt been invited to any of them because a)  boys weekend B) some of the wives would want to come if girls were allowed c) some of the wives get upset if a girl was there d) boys smell.

Years ago I used to go to Le Mans with a large group of blokes. They did let one "girl" in though. Some idiot challenged her to a drinking contest saying she could go if she could drink him under the table. Needless to say she can't half drink !!!. The wives were never happy though and on a Sunday night after a bottle or two of gin it was best to keep well away from her whilst she was on the pull, so you couldnt blame the wives really.

That's not a bad fee; I may* have known someone who would do them, over the phone if necessary, for a bottle of scotch, sadly he has now passed on.
