Someone left a crappy comment on one of my youtube vids yesterday, and "disliked" the vid too.

 

okay, so you welded for an hour and speeded it up to 3 mins - very unimpressive. where's the rest of the restoration?? nobody wants to see you weld.

 

I am so INCENCED that I'm going to complain about it every chance I get. I've already sent him a message explaining that the video is MY property and I didn't give him permission to dislike it, soon as I find out what forums he hangs out on I'll join there and complain some more.

The way I see it......

1) Bloke buys tidy looking 1300 Trumpet, goes online says "Hey everyone look at this, I've got an old motah and I've painted the bonnet matt black coz I iz rebble!"

2) Small amount of shoulder shrugging happens.

3) "I wantz big rimz yo wnatz da Dolly Sprintz" Bloke told they won't fit. Bloke argues, then sulks. Tries to sell car.

4) "Hey peeps on teh interwebz i can haz blakk paint". The whole internet implodes with opinions good and bad. Bloke starts to moan that everyone iz WANKORZ

5) Bloke finds out that TEH AUTOSHIT MASSIV have noticed his plight and have added their opinions. DORK1300 joins Da 'shoyte and sends whining pm's to people.

6) After not getting the response he was after, Dork posts on GOM thread, and in a contradictory post, makes himself look like an utter WANG.

7) Da AS KREW wade in, take the piss some more, but Mr Dorky McWang just doesn't get it and whines some more.

 

To bastardize a well known phrase "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the garage". The minute the share or submit button is hit, everything you do is in the public domain. If you're going to put your head over the parapet, prepare to have someone throw stuff at you.

I won't say stuff on teh interweb that I wouldn't say to someones face, so here goes.

Your car looks shit. I only hope that when you do get bored with it, it'll still be saveable - which if you've done all the work you reckon you have, it will be.

And as for the personal comments about your "sartorial elegance" - I won't comment past saying I'm sure I had a shirt like that once....about 15 years ago.

But to be fair, you should really attribute the source, so a photo byline "Taken by Triumph1300 that tasteless chippy idiot" should be added.

Some of them pictures are actually quite funny. Like I said, diss the car all you want. It's just the personal stuff that's not needed. Yes I did go over the top about it, because I was slated and my personal life. This is a car forum is it not?

And for everyone who keeps saying I had a nice looking triumph to begin with....u didn't. It looked poor, previous owner mustve been blind when he done the repairs on it, the pictures just made it look better.

my grump for this afternoon:

 

popped into scarytowers to look at the front caliper on the granada - as it seemed to be grabbing. simple to sort, just needed some rust knocking off the pad edges and now everything working fine

 

reversed out of the garage and noticed something on the floor

 

gearbox mount bolt

 

3 minutes scrabbling under the car and that annoying clunk has dissappeared - at least it fell off where i could see it, rather than on the duel carriageway

 

right, i'm off to buy a check shirt and shades

I agree with this. sadly the problem on this forum is the unofficial wanker's clique that exists purely as a form of cyber bullying. They say anything to make themselves feel good about belittling someone else, justifying it by saying they are "just having a laugh" and those who join in just encourage them.

Scum who do this are the precise reason I have nothing to do with any owners clubs and why my FOE list on here seems to be growing daily.

There has been one time on here when I've defended someone who was being 'bullied' for want of a better word. It was when a kid who apparently may have had some special needs was posting and people were calling him a stupid cunt etc.

 

Apart from that, if you post something publicly, you are all adults and should be able to deal with people's responses.

Oi! Trig's officially a wanker, and he admits it.

 

Triumph dude took offence at a few posts in 'ere and barged in on the offensive. Not the ideal way to make friends and influence people. Rest of the time I think we all get on rather splendidly. It's a forum, there are plenty of folk on here who post about all kinds of random shit and I don't see too many tantrums (although I threw a strop the other week over a misunderstanding so it does happen).

 

There are all kinds of folk in 'ere from all walks of life. There's always going to be the odd wobbly in any group of people.

 

Still pissed off Norm got the kangaroo court without a chance to defend himself, but otherwise I think this place conducts itself well.

I think Autoshite is remarkably chilled out compared to some forums I go on... 99.99999999999% of any piss-taking is good-natured from what I can see.
