Something odd happening on E.bay. I bought an A frame from a guy in Chesterfield a month or so ago and paid via paypal. Drove up and collected it, hand shakes, nice fella, didn't tink any more about it. Checking my paypal balance today and it says the "scheduled payment has been cancelled" and I've been refunded. Check on e.bay and sure enough it says the order was unsuccessful and I haven't been charged.

I've rang this guys company up and he's away for a week or so and can't be contacted so I'll get in touch when he gets back. I can only imagine that his paypal address has been frozen or closed down for some reason by those bastards at e.bay for posting his phone number or something in an advert. I'll get his money to him somehow though.

So got an email from the AA.

'We charged you twice, we will refund you the extra payment'

Got another email a few days later.

'We've refunded you twice but keep the extra one'

Then just got another email:

'Actually no we didn't, we just refunded you once.'

Good going there.

I have just reversed the Land Rover into the front of the house. My own fault for trying to get out of the way of the car coming down the street. I have broken the indicator lens and bulb. I have robbed the bulb from the reverse lamp and taped a spare red lens over the holder (the screws have sheared so if I can't drill them out it will be a new bulb holder as well). I'm now in a very bad mood.

Not vehicle related, but I walked past a homeless man... wearing the exact same trainers. These aren’t plain white trainers, but bright blue nike with orange laces.

Speaking of the homeless, one guy had an immaculate husky looking thing...

Are you sure he was homeless, I am often mistaken for a tramp, especially if I have one of the dogs with me

For some reason a lot have appeared in the city Center lately, I saw more immaculate looking dogs than I did ropey mongrels.

I crashed into my house last week and buggered the nsr arch on the Saab. Annoying isn't it?

.... I think the 'stained' sleeping bag + sharing a MaccyD with dog is a 'give away' m8 ;)

Years ago I was talking to a girl about her Alsatian which appeared to never move the whole time she was selling the big issue. Apparently she used to go out at 5am and walk for 3 hours so it was too knackered to worry about strangers talking to her!

I work with the homeless daily, 9 times out of 10 the dog eats before they do, if they are down to their last quid the dog eats and they don't

do you still get an extra £10 out of the social if you own a dog?

You couldn't get an extra £10 out of the social these days if you walked in with a pair of live pterodactyls getting stroked by Lord Lucan whilst astride Shergar

The builder has not reacted well to our letter before action (the bit you have to do before small claims).

They have been in touch demanding that we let them exercise their right to rectify the problems. I politely responded that we have allowed the exercise of that right at least 10 times and there is still water pissing all over the floor. How long can they expect us to wait for them to make a bath hold water?!

They argue that we can only claim for them to put right things in their interpretation of our surveyors report and cannot get someone else in to do it. They claim we have no rights to complain about the aesthetics of the job (such as the bath being installed out of square with an inch gap between it and the wall at one corner).

They also asked why I insisted on emailing after 9pm and thus forced them to work outside of office hours.

Naturally I drafted a polite and reasonable reply, and set an alarm to send it at 2:34AM.

Fuckers.

Went through 3 "Toolzone" compounding heads doing the Escort this afternoon, what a load of bollocks. Back to Farecla for me.

Ha, nice one! I'm struggling to understand why they don't realise the email will still be there in the morning.

What a shower (see what I did there?) of whining dickheads. Why don't they just read your emails at 9am the next day? They sound like a child offering a mega lame defence as to why they are 2 kitkats out the fridge when they were only allowed one.

Bob the Beard, does your batty old lady need a builder at all?

Louise, do your builders want some work?

Karma.

What if you don’t want him to rectify the work as you think he’s shite? I had the same issue over a respray I had done a few years ago. I had to pay to get the car back and it was a shit job. When I went down the SCC route he offered to do the job again, while admitting that he “wasn’t an automotive painter” WTF? Obv I didn’t want him near my car but I still had to give him the opportunity to correct his work. Gave up in the end.

Posted

I know :( I am just hoping that the number of times we did have them back and the email they sent in June say that they no longer intended to carry out any work for us will go in our favour.

Posted

Sounds like it should do, there must be a point where you can say you've lost confidence & don't want them doing the work.

I lost a screw out the audi's under tray - it was in danger of being ripped off.

Well it was me who got ripped off - a fiver for one screw. Which has now fell off. Again.

I have improvised with something else.

I know how to annoy you even more.

I added 17-Coffees to my Mondeo's insurance policy so we can share the driving down to Birmingham next weekend for the classic car show.

They reduced my premium by... £138! It was only £330 in the first place! I don't know either, but I'm not questioning it.
