That’s a beautiful combo, properly Lancia boxy goodness.

What are they like to drive? I always imagined they’d be quite softly sprung but progressively stiffer as you pressed on.

I’ll now be trawling youtube.

It's needs quite a bit doing , but the basics are there . Guna try getting it started tonight ,as starter was stuck but I've freed it off . Rest just looks like normal stuff for a car that's been stood

The first attempt at starting has failed . I've replaced the bust fuel pipes but still nothing . Tonight I've fetched my noid lights home , plugged on into a injector connector and there not flashing when cranking . Ive tested the crank sensor resistance and it's open circuit so that will be the culprit . One is ordered and will be fitted when it arrives .

Still, at least you know what it is! Even if it doesn't start it still looks lovely!

Sadly not

My old landlord had a red Prisma that sat on the drive next to the house we rented from him.  Lovely looking thing.  1.6 with an understated, grey interior.  Always wanted it.  Nice!

This era of lancias are really well put together . Yes it's a bit boxy and dated by 1990 . But they are better built than the dedra which replaced it . As with most Italian cars it's the earth's that cause issues . I've got a dedra turbo engine sat in garage ,I'm in 2 minds whether to fit it to this ,it's a straight bolt in .

That is already one of my favourite cars I've seen on here.  Looking forward to following your progress with it!

The better thing to do would be to fit a 2 litre 16 valve engine.

That is as sharp as a knife. Don’t change a thing. I love it.

Removed failed crank sensor today ready for new one coming ,what an horrid job , just poor access . Then I've changed 3 brake pipes this aft . Just got to join one tomorrow .

I love these Prismas. My old man had the chance to get one as a company car back in the day. Lancia were trying to win over the uk public by getting AA staffers to drive around in them. He chickened out and went for a Montego (or was it a Cav?). What a dunderhead! 😁

I had two of its Delta brothers - a 1.3lx and a gtie. Great cars and pretty well put together too. 👍

Small update , crank sensor has arrived and I've fitted it. It's now running in a fashion , I'm going to fit new plugs and put fresh fuel in .but it did sound sweet when running

Bit more work done . Replaced all rear brake pipes , bled brakes and we now have a nice pedal , all brakes are free too. Starter motor was weak , so I removed a known good one off a dedra turbo engine I've got in garage and fitted that . It's now running , I've freed off the stuck injector , engine runs smooth . Ideally I need to do cambelt before I run it again .

The last Prisma I saw was at Walker's a couple of years ago.  Also a G reg, which was a late one I think.  I later went to view the Fiat Tipo they took in part ex for it, which they happily told me was a much better car than the Prisma.

Still would.  Many times over.  Not as much as a Thema, mind you.

I saw that parked up on the Knowsley Industrial Estate and was hoping that it wasn't going to get removed by the council.

Ye it's safe now . I'm having to self isolate through track and trace at min so at least I can get a few jobs done while off .

Looks absolutely GR9 this, I love these. Has someone picked it up by the roof? Gutters look mildly chewed, though it could just be my eyes.

That's lovely, must be a seriously rare thing now.  Are these basically a Delta saloon?

Yep, Prisma is to Delta as Orion is to Escort as Belmont is to Disastra as Tempra is to Tipo etc etc...

Yes it's been picked up by roof . I do need to try straighten those gutters out . Luckily they don't let water in . Tomorrow I'm going to do another brake pipe thats a bit past it's best and replace the other rear Flexi hose . Also going to strip and clean front brakes . Wipers only work on full speed so multi meter will be coming out to start trying to find the issue .
