So I've stumbled upon this.............

66,000 miles

1 owner from new

3 keys 1 remote

All books and service history

Only things I can see are missing is the plastic boot lid with the two hinges areas. And the boot lid shelve. And the rear logo off the boot

Very clean and tidy

Nice!  There was a thread on here about someone owning one, I remember rust repairs being done but I love tiny Japanese cars!

Lovely. I had an NA version and it was great. Change the gearbox fluid if possible as the turbos do like to lunch the boxes.

It was maybe parked in the barn in the evenings. Looking at the MOT history it's never been off the road.

Owned by the same gent since purched in Birmingham in 2004. Parked in a garage most of its life  lived in Midlands but got took back to a local garage in wouster for all repairs and mots. Always to the same place. I love it. Bit of a marmite car. Had the 4x4 and 110bhp 1.3 as well on 2001 and 2003 plates but could never afford the turbo. Sort of a dream car. Now parked up in a storage unit where i can work on it

As others have said change the gearbox oil asap. You might need to do it more than once to get it nice and clear. Also check rear arches, fuel filler pipe and take off the plastic trims to check the sills for rust.

This is my baby.

She has got exactly the same mileage 66K

I was thinking about a Charade GTti that my mate used to have 20 years ago, and it made me wonder what the cheapest route into a tiny turbo thing would be these days?

And I have her cousin the Sirion Rally 2.

I would love a Sirion Rally. Even the standard 1.3 Manual is a fun machine.

Sometimes I dream of finding a Rally 4 and removing the front driveshafts to make a RWD Sirion

Your mate didn’t lose his leg in it by any chance?

Mine did.

Now that I would like to see! The Rally 4’s are like hens teeth now. It is the closest thing I have found to driving an oldskool mini and the close ratio gearbox is great fun.

Yes I think they only sold 25 in this country (vs approx 100 Rally 2s) so not many to start with. I did look at an MOT fail 1.3 recently for a few hundred quid but decided I’d prefer to wait for a Rally. The standard 1.3 was pretty quick anyway (102bhp in 850kgs) and engine was a peach.

I've just noticed a water leak on the turbo. Anyone have a I dea what size banjo and nut these use please. Looks like a m12 size to me but don't know how long maybe 1.25? Just want to replace it before it goes totaly

So today did a engine flush. And oil and filter change as recommended even tho it's only donr 600 miles since service. I've orderd some ATF fluid for collection tomorrow so I can change that as well. And a set of new plugs and air FILTER. The underside looks good same as arches. It has spent 90% of its life in a garage. I've also replaced the belt with a new gates pk4 1755 so no more squeaks

I had the NA version of the YRV and even that was pretty sprightly with 89bhp and far less weight than it left the factory with. The turbo must be a real hoot.

I don't know what size those are, but if you need any info join the FB group "Daihatsu performance enthusiasts" it's full of knowledgeable people who can answer pretty much any questions about these

The banjo bolt is indeed 12x1.25 but looking at yours that is exactly where my one started leaking and it was the pipe and not the fixing.

On my one both of the coolant pipes were badly corroded so i had new ones made up at my local Pirtek place ( £45 rings a bell ).

The oil feed pipe had been leaking previously on mine too (don't know where that was sourced from though).

Amazing thanks I will order up a replacement part Monday.

Well I put a bit of jb weld on the pipe to hold it while I wait for the replacement part to come. Took her out did 100 miles in her and she drive brilliantly. Lots of power. Did the gearbox oil change it was clear red but put new oil in as everyone suggested. Will hopefully get her on the ramp next week and have a look under her but to be honest she doesn't look bad

The ends of your sills look a bit swollen,if you're brave remove the sill covers and have a prod around.

I got lucky with mine and caught the grot early before it munched through the inner sill.

Blimey. Is that THREE of these things we've got on here? Amazing. Only time I can remember seeing one in the metal was the one that went through Cannock last year. Poor thing. Didn't look half bad though.
