Princess 2200 HLS in Reynard metallic (very dark brown), manual box and a Radiomobile cracklematic. Early (87-88 750iL in Royal blue metallic with the smooth dished alloys (V12 only) and buffalo leathers. Or a triumvirate of seventies Jags - Cotswold yellow pre HE V12 XJS, willow green XJ6 Series 1 (2.8 for full crapness) and a Juniper green 4.2 XJC.Can you imagine a better selection of driveway ornaments, and how many would be running at any one time?

Me:Lexus LS400 but a really old one like '91/92, I know its not exactly shite but it is in a way, long cross-European journies will be a doddle in this fine chunk of Japanesey engineering, 4.0 V8, RWD, Jap Build, Comfy seatage=WinA Mini, I have a '90s Cooper which is really nice but its full of leather and walnut and the engine bay is crammed to the hilt with wires and injection shite, as much as I love it I think it kind of misses the point sometimes, I had a drive in a late 1970s Mini 1000 last week and it was sublime, so smooth over the bumps you wouldn't belive it was a Mini so I want either a 1970s or pre '83 (last of the 10" wheels) Mini 1000 please...with a centre speedo.Vauxhall Senator 3.0 24v, no such luck over here as they are as rare as a very rare thing indeedy, the last one I saw was for sale with a mechanic I know very well, obviously "Yes I'd like to have a look at it when you've finished valeting it with a view to buying it" sounds alot like "Please ignore my requests and sell it to someone else" so he did and the moron wrote it off within a week  BMW E32 Seven or E34 Five series, I regret selling my E34 525i in a big way, they are much better made compared to my E36 that I really want another only most are owned by mongs who run them into the ground.Vauxhall Firenza, went to a car show two weeks ago and there was a beauty there, it was for sale about a year ago at what I seem to recall a very reasonable price.

There's a RHD Mustang II Ghia up for 3 grand at "Next-Car-4-U" in Sudbury. It's overpriced, and I haven't seen it up close. I would suspect it would be either the woeful straight six or an emissions choked 302 (always a weak engine anyway). And it's brown with a white vinyl roof, also I suspect it's a sludge pumper.I want it, bad.

Ital estate. Unlikely as there are probably about 3 left Id imagine.

Although Itals do seem to have been multiplying of late...

^ There's one on ebay at the moment, but in 'camper' format (easily rectified).

Can you post a link? I can only find a van-based camper or that lovely Marina estate.

That that is quality junk! 6 pots used the 2.8 Cologne type V6 tho? Absolutely abysmal either way.Regarding Minis - too many are tonced up 12 inch wheelers owned by laughable idiots who go to all the Mini shows and dress them up with the usual bonnet stripes/'blow the bloody doors' off stickers and other shit that have reduced the Mini into a Grade A spastic chariot.A nice seventies Mini 1000 is a very pleasant way to travel, apart from the other Mini Mongs flashing their lights at you in some sort of sad tribal greeting.

I have a strange perverse longing for a Volvo 780 Turbo.

I can't find one for sensible money, so here's a pic of a 780 TD instead (it's €7000 unfortunately)

That is a dream car for me, especially with a smokey Rudolf under the nose.

2.0 V4 FTW. Best body with one of the least desirable engines in history.

A Cortina Mk1, preferably a 1500 four door. Need to get one next year before the prices get even more silly, or they all get Old skooled to death. Also an early Mazda MX5, they seem to be getting nice and cheap now.If lots of money fell into my lap, then an early to mid 1960s four door hardtop Yank - a Ford Galaxie or Chrysler New Yorker appeal. I've have to buy some storage for it with some of the cash though!

This is mine, I recently had it resprayed and I converted the brakes so I could use 10" wheelage (note unusual/rare wheels) the only other thing I've done style wise is different arches and a mk1 grille and bumper set-up, does this make me I a spiv? I wouldn't give a flying fuck if it did.

My mate is insists I fit one of his '100% BMW Free' stickers in the back, I told him under no circumstances will I have any stickers with wanky slogans on my car, not only that but I own four sodding BMWs anyway.

Even when I've (rarely) got a wad of cash, I never know what I'm actually going to end up with. I can't really plan these things. There are many, many cars that I'd like. Sooo many fings!!!

I don't know why I want a Pontiac Fiero but I do. Even one with a fake 308 kit attached.

Aah, the thinking Man's Maserati. Imagine being able to pick one of those MoFos up for £750 for a bit of PRV action. :D

Your mate needs shooting in that case.......

That's quite pleasant - are they wider versions of the BRM alloy? A pair of pre '78 rear lights without the white reversing lights look good too.

Mark 1 rear lights are a bit overdone now - if it were mine I'd revert to an early Mark 3 grille and bonnet badge plus the essential BL badges on the A panels.

That's good, then! At least a real Mk 1 hasn't been ruined with the plastic arches and 6" wide wheels  How old is that Mini? I hate people who try to make 80s ones look they're from the 60s.Mine's from 1981. it's got a 998cc engine. It's brown, not even a 'nice' dark brown, proper mid-brown, poo brown! The seats have brown vinyl edges and the rest is brown tartany cloth. It has BLACK bumpers and a BLACK grille. No stereo and there's not even a hole for an aerial but because it's an HL model it has carpets (Brown, of course), opening rear windows and those crazy plastic wheel trims with separate nut caps.Sometimes I think of selling it, because I could get a lot more than I paid and I haven't used it for ages. But then I realise that I can't. Because anyone that buys it would turn it into a replica of a Mk1 or a Cooper, and would get it resprayed and fit silly wheels and a new interior.I nearly sold it to someone at work, on the promise that he wouldn't change the colour. Just before we did the deal, I asked 'so what are your plans for it then?' 'Oh, just a decent stereo, fat wheels and arches, chrome bumpers and grille and some spotlights across the front'.No way.

I reckon Minis with the black grille are the coolest of them all to be honest, I especially like the 80s ones (MK5?) with the little black arches. They look very workmanlike and simple.

I saw a Mini with some full-face trims the other day piloted by some old lady, struck me how long it has been since I saw a Mini without some lairy Minilite/Revolution/Alleycat wheel setup.

Mine has 10" wheels with these trims:

The same interior too!

Mine's got the original black bumpers though, and it's brown with beige stripes which obviously makes it much cooler...

My wife's Mini is a 1985 City E with black bumpers and grille. Still got the original interior (last year of the centre speedo) and 998cc motor. Cooper lookalike? Naaah! Only break from tradition is a touch of metal flake in the paint, which is invisible unless the sun's shining anyway.Actually, we're thinking of selling it if anyone must satisfy that Mini lusting!

Would it be cheeky to ask how much?(4 CASH M8 COLECT 2NITE)

Not sure to be honest. I'd better get a feel for Mini values! We paid £741 for her six years ago, but she has had just about every panel replaced since then...

Here's a competition: You're a member of the Rust'n'Remoulds Mini Club (Uttoxeter) and you go in convoy to all the Mini clubs with your social misfit mates. How would you proceed to totally fuck over this nice Champagne beige HL? Bagsy I go first;

1.) Sport pack arches and a cheap 13 inch wheel and tyre Minilite rip offs.

2.) Black bonnet stripes.

3.) Union Jack roof.

4.) Four spotlights across the front.

5.) Inappropriate chome Austin style crinkly grille.

6.) "Sell my Mini? I'd rather shove wasps up my arse" sticker.

7.) "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off" sticker

8.) Garfield fluffy toy tie wrapped to the grille.

9.) Pair of horrid cheap bucket seats in bright blue.

10.) Mountney steering wheel.

11.) Clear lens rear lights.

12.) Call it 'Spanky' and go to all the Mini shows. Look like a retard.

Have I missed anything?
