Despite all the fuss about them ‘disappearing’ in the 1990s, there still seem to be a healthy supply of Marinas, there are far more survivors about than any competitor except possibly Cortinas (and a lot of those in the U.K. are now imports).
Good to see Top Gear didn’t wreck them all!

From the description, looks to have had some interesting giffer mods, from the pic of the rear panel a variety of rear lights look to have been removed, maybe the number plate was mounted there, with no fewer than three lights illuminating it!

Unless there is special Allegro tax in Ireland that is about a thousand euros overpriced. I know it’s an early one but I can’t see it making more than £500 over here, and it would have worth about £50 a few years ago.

Princesses seem to be far rarer than Marinas. I've been to loads of classic car shows since 2002 and have only seen 2 Princesses at any of them. I've only seen about 10 altogether in the last 25 years.

The Marina & Ital club went to Caerwys in 2019 and there were about 30 Marinas & Itals there - the most I'd ever seen in one place!

If they want £10k for it they should probably put the bumpers back on. I don’t mind the debumpered look as I imagine it was a common period mod but the wheels need to get in the sea.

A pair of cosmics or alleycats would fit the ‘subtly customised in 1972’ vibe, but to be honest the original steels painted black or grey would look better than those gold things.

The interior is beautiful though, there’s nothing to fault there. If I lived in Bournemouth I’d be sorely tempted to go have a look.

£7495 - A lot of Northern Irish folk seem to be "cashing out" on their invested modern classics ATM

That’s because the market is more thank a bit flat everywhere recently. I think some folks see a big dip coming and aren’t expecting it to recover to where it was, I also think I probably agree with them.  (Whoever they are)

It's got a reasonable asking price as well.

From memory they made about a million or so Marinas/Itals, maybe even more. Until about 1978 it was a consistent top five seller in Britain.

The Princess was a lot less popular, I wouldn’t be surprised if together with the Ambassador they made more than about 250k.

The Marina/Ital was also a much better ‘banger’, as long as you kept on welding it up, they were simplicity itself to maintain on a budget, probably one of the best cars for this ever. What wasn’t in the shelf in the local factors was easily available in the nearest breakers yard. Still in common sight in the early 90s, particularly in rural areas.

On the other hand, Princesses tended to die quite young, due to driveshaft/engine issues, perceived FWD ‘complication’ and very low resale values. By 1990 they were more or less extinct, Ambassadors had better build quality and less issues but again no one really wanted one after Montegos could be got for under a grand.
