They were indeed but I think after the cars were current, hence too late for the Princesses being scrapped.

Car and Car Conversions did an article about fitting Princess Calipers to various car including Escorts, Capris and Spitfires about 1982.

My L reg non-estate 1300 version was a horrible thing at 3 years old when I bought it. I thought I was doing the right thing buying nearly* new. On a bloody 3 year loan. Gutless and fuel heavy, generally horrible. I should have spent a few quid keeping my C reg Mazda 323 in gold (it looked beige) running. It was a lot more refined and better on petrol. I was young and knew no better.

I had a Td Orion version on the N plate was ok just needed the bottom arms replaced constantly,

It’s probably not a bad bet if you can do the bodywork, though I can guarantee there’s more rot hiding.

Having had one of those, the rot will be rampant throughout. Ours certainly was.

Those V4 engines are fantastic though. Revvy, smooth and go far better than you'd expect for a 1300cc

Alfa Romeo 159 Ti 1750tbi Sports Wagon - rare model. 263k miles

Unfortunately it has failed its MOT with some rust issues and a couple other things, please lookup the MOT history online for full details (FE10 ZCA). Would be great as a fix up if access to cheap labour (i.e. DIY), as donor car or to be broken for parts if so inclined.

Engine has been given regular oil changes in my ownership and still runs great. Cambelt changed about 15k miles ago. Great tan leather interior in decent nick. Exterior is decent condition too (although admittedly I didn't clean it for the photos)

Location: Bath

Ah, this looks like the car formally owned by @Chris155 , lots of history on this one! Alfa 159 1750 tbi (208000 miles) - Page 1 - Readers' Cars - PistonHeads UK
