I owned that exact car in 2023, albeit briefly. It was one of many ULEZ refugees I ended up buying that year!

Never really got round to doing anything with it as I had too many cars/bikes at the time.

Fingers crossed it finds a good home!

Couple of questions. Any idea why it was registered July 1999 if it was a 1997 build? Also do you know what damage it received to become a Cat N?

Can't answer either of your questions I'm afraid. I knew it was imported but seem to recall this was a fad in the late nineties as a way of dodging import taxes on new cars. I just assumed it was down to that, as it came up as a UK-spec car on all the usual databases.

If I remember correctly, both the year of manufacture and year of registration were the same (1999) on the logbook. The 1997 build date was unknown to me, though this information is likely to be obtainable from the chassis number.

It was already a Cat N when I bought it 3 years ago, but presumably it was fairly recent as it was still Cat C/D up until a few years ago.

Not sure how that came about, but given the age/value of the car it could have been written off over the most trivial thing. There was nothing to suggest any accident damage whatsoever when I had it.

@w00dy had it after me; perhaps he could answer your questions better than me.

Bloody hell, that's ace for £575/best offer. Can someone just buy it in case I do?

That was up for sale at the back end of last year. Only a couple left, its a "badged" Chinese bike and not terribly reliable from what internet searching I did at the time

It looks very much lie those (Sukida?) GS125 clones. I still think it'd be a laugh rocking up to a British bike meeting on it though.

Not much to add to what i put in the ad really. It's a slightly odd one. The build sheet in the service book states a 12/97 build date with a delivery date of 31/05/99 and there's a little export paper thing I presume for export registration giving 7 days for it to go to the UK and it was PDI'd in Milton Keynes apparently on the same date by Audi Tax Free Sales.

As for the Cat N, I don't know at all.
