If Mrs6C did not have an Eldorado Touring Coupe I would just have to have this for £2k.

Bizarre - I knew Cadillac had a brief spell selling UK market cars in the noughties, was this an offish UK model too?

The Omega was renamed Cadillac Catera

It was marketed as a lightweight sports saloon. 😅

Glass's Guide lists the STS as a UK model 1998(R) to 1999(S)

Mrs6C's Eldorado Touring Coupe was never a UK model and in fact her car is a Japanese spec car. Japan is a right hand drive country but they were all sold as left hand drive. I understand a handful were sold in Australia with a right hand drive conversion.

I'd go LHD for that. Fit as fuck.

Apparently, Japan covets LHD cars and they are seen as prestigious. To the point where I remember discussing selling the Jaguar F-TYPE in LHD to Japan (well, as an option anyway). Mental.

'98 and up STS was indeed an official UK model, plenty of them around. In fact I have seen so many of them for under a grand (albeit pre-covid) that I wouldn't want to spend more than that on any example unless sub-70k miles.

Europe obviously got a much broader range much earlier and shared all UK models after this STS.

There's more 'finesse' in a builders arse crack.

I'll defend cheap 'n' clean Escorts as perfectly functional cheap transport 'till the day I die.

Mine got me through years of college at a time when I was thoroughly skint with minimal costs.

Easy to forget* facelift  4th gen Camaros and C5 Corvettes were sold new in the UK with LHD in Vauxhall dealerships.  I remember reading about them in Evo when they were the current model in the early 2000s.

*because they were a massive flop and barely sold any.

Insane value, even if it fails the next test that's six months of cheap and cheerful motoring for 400 quid.

Not ebay, but the side of the A49.

Too expensive, too rusty and too dusty. That's before you get to the mingebag spec.

That two door Ascona B would likely be of interest to those looking to build a rally rep...

That's not the engine I was expecting to see, I didn't know these came with a transverse stroker - any ideas?spacer.png
