They were really taking the piss (at least outside the us market). Back then they justified it with the quality of engineering and construction that was the real luxury. Tbf they weren't wrong but at least give us a radio.

'Embrodided seat'

The embrodidery on the side of the seat looks a bit like the scab that appeared on my nan's leg when she fell off my skateboard in 1979.

My first C3 100 had keep fit windows all round.  I think central locking was the only "luxury" feature it had.  I also had an M-plate 80 TDI auto which had keep fit windows but an electric sunroof.  Weird.
