Predictably: Watchlisted.  Bit on the young side though.

Same here, the gearbox slipping is putting me off slightly but with the aforementioned issues and short mot, might go cheap?

Reassuring to see a bottle of Ajax CIF bleach 'connoisseurs choice car cream' front lower left 👍🏻

But what's the thing with the orange flex & blue/green handle?

Drill will a buffer on it for polishing?

This is like one of those American crime scene photos when they show where the belongings and blood of the missing hitchhiker was found:

Brilliant van though. Do not paint!

Incredible thing. Big V8 & RWD - it's got the unusual moon roof for rear passengers too. End of an era - I think this was the last of the really big US 'family wagons' - in car form before SUV's took over.

"runs and drives like a 1976 van"

🤔 Is that a pro or a con?

I'm pretty sure these are body-on-frame too, so that wheelarch rust is inconsequential.  I'd really like to get a crawl under it, and a test drive, but it ain't going to happen, and a transmission rebuild is HFM??  And because of that I'd have to get someone to fetch it for me on a wagon.  Nah, I'm oot.  Shame, because it is lush.

Yes -  body on frame for these. From the write-up it seems the current owner has spent quite a lot of time on sorting this mechanically but has thrown in the towel over the transmission issue - will need coming out by the sound of it.

Really useful bit of kit with all that space and it tows.

Very very unusual.

Here is a current US owner review:

That makes us 3 then 😂 I think the rust and location doesn't make this the most attractive proposition though. I wish I had pulled the trigger on the other, much more sensible* Roadmasters/Caprice Wagons in the past few years, there were a few reasonably priced ones out there, although every single one neglected.

That's a manual one, and 2006, so a good chance of not being hideous to tax - in which case, yes, you should, for that money if it's as clean as it looks and the mileage should imply then you really don't get much nicer as a four-seat convertible, though something's not right with that roof folding - maybe a broken elastic. They don't leak much, the roof engineering is really good - and FFS, it's cheap silly summer fun.

If the history has a timing belt change in, even better,
