Why has nobody mentioned the dog !!

Or, more specifically, why it has toilet brushes for legs.

Looks like a decent blank canvass. Nothing coming up for DJH 474G though?

Perfect* group buy!

The Italians would never fall for that again!

In 2013. As less of a no hoper.

Sad to see that degradation. It was already rare by 2013, so it's a shame it wasn't preserved at that point.

My dad had a green Montego so I'll always have a soft spot for them, although his was stolen and burnt out

I recommissioned that Montego in 2013 after dragging it in to the daylight from an Old Boy's workshop near Doncaster. It got put in there when Thatcher was still PM! The interior was immaculate, having been stored away from the sun for so long, and was very unusual as the brown Maestro/Montego interiors suffer from UV degradation so to find one 'as new' was quite something. The bodywork was always iffy, as Opaline Green has an inherent fault that causes crazing like 'worm casts' under the paint so the body was never up to much but it has been rust proofed from new so was amazingly solid.

I sold it in 2018 to a lovely lad in south Manchester. He was without a shadow of a doubt a 'vulnerable adult' but was making a go of things and indulging his hobby for old cars. He used it sparingly and sold it quite soon after as his health deteriorated. This is where the cars fortunes change and it is bought by the infamous 'Pat Pat' from Maestro/Montego circles. He buys the car then starts to bully the seller to return money, listing a number of imaginary faults. This caused much stress and upset as you can imagine until Pat was issued with a number of 'cease and desists' from... concerned parties.

Pat subsequently trashed it, as you would expect from such a fuckwit. It came up for sale the other year in much this condition and the current owner has been storing it since in the hope of keeping it in 'stasis' so that it might live again (again).

I have no idea why 'Pat Pat' is held in such high esteem. I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire. Incidentally he goes by that pseudonym so you can't look up the Daily Post article that reveals long standing character traits.

Looks like you did a good job on it, shame it's suffered since.

There was a similar kind of guy on the Dolomite pages around 2012-2015

Would buy a half decent car, fuck about putting shit wheels on it, brush painting it and crashing it and then when a repair bill exceeded his 50p budget or Fisher Price abilities it'd end up in Albert Looms scrapyard. I think at one point they had 3 Dolomites of his at once!

I still have the urge to own a Previa/Estima at least once in my life. This one looks fantastic.
