Yeah, I had my eye on that one - it quickly got too rich for my blood.  I hope the lucky winner is happy... and likes orange!

That's been doing its rounds for quite a while now, seen it advertised a few times on FB. Seems its "gone" now. Bugger, that was nice, and (very) local to me....

He does say approx so that could be 1 mile or 5000 miles or anything inbetween :D

Car for life that and can't see much going wrong for many years.

I love people who only buy new cars for "reliability" when something like that will be just as reliable, if not more and not cost you £3k a year just to buy.

See his other items..... Kia 1.5CRDi? Is that the one you can map up to 'cruise missile' spec 😱

I agree, the VW PD engines are virtually indestructible

My brother had a facelifted one. For me it's still one of the best subcompacts ever made.

Looked amazing in facelift form with the stock 17" wheels, the interior was very nice for such a cheap model, and the engine was just superb

£850 for an MoT'd R5 seems like great value these days. Clean it up, four hubcaps, sell it just before Festival of the Unexceptional and doulbe your money?

This Maxi needs PUMPING UP and a clutch slave, but looks really solid. £1200, get it sent down to Les at BL Transverse for 'the works' and you've got a great usable '70s motor

Time was the A40 Farina was the unloved brother of the A35 (too modern, presumably) but these days they seem to go for stronger money than A35s do, I guess because far fewer survive. This sweet Mk1 needs a basic recommission but looks like VALU for £1500.

It's worth more in scrap than £200! CarTakeBack said £288...
