I wonder what £ it would take to get a 1.9 TDI to be as real-world quick as a W8 auto. I imagine the dizzel can be persuaded into lots of torques

A PD130 will get this far on a remap alone. So chuck more tat at it and yer sorted.

Going to say my old 110bhp b5 Passat had a fettle on the set up and easily kept up with a 3.0 tdi A5.

They go well anyway but mapped up are pretty mental even by current standards.

A lot better on fuel as well, but my Passat was the roughest car I've ever owned, inside and out yet mechanically exceptional.

Surprised there's any of those hateful bastards left, mine was a V reg and it was rotten in 2008! Some mad fucker kept it going until 2017 though which was a pleasant surprise

I quite like them (guess that's why I'm here). The KA was just as bad IME, if not worse. My Mum used to work for Ayr Fiat and although she was based there she still dealt with Fords from time to time with area work, the amount of four or five year old rotten KAs was shocking.

Oh I don't mind them that much, they just aren't my favourites! To be honest all Ford's of that time were crap, apart from the MK1 Focus and MK3 Mondeo that they did manage to make of metal stronger than cheese 🧀

This is confusing me. Is this one of those rare diesels that has an LPG conversion??? Anyone near Bargoed to go check it out?

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/976684916314381/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Afb6281e5-d0c7-4cd0-89f4-fec95e19ec4a

Edit - I've just seen what looks like a filler pipe going underneath the boot floor :o That does not look like a professional conversion!

Edit again - this from the seller "no lpg conversation. is for forge that was in back as it was a farriers car." Okay then....

That's got to be something special! From 2012 to 2017, based on the mileage increments it looks like it's only journeys were to and from the MOT station

Before then it looks like it only did a few hundred a year after getting about 25k in its first few years

I'd say it must have been garaged most of its life. A rust free Ka is a good little car all round, as long as you're not too tall!

I preferred it before the burns, rostyles and cheapo buckets.

My stepmum had an Escort XR3 Manuel when her and my dad lived in Massachusetts. It was similar to this. I seem to remember it having some sort of magic seat belt arrangement that electrically drew back the shoulder belt along the roof line.

Although it was called XR3 it had nothing in common with the Euro Ford; I think it was a 1.9 engine.
