That's astonishing. I haven't seen a Mk1 since about 1997. It looks really cheap to me, plus it's local. Would be infinitely improved by fitting the proper early wheels and ditching those spot lamps

Yeah its surprising how old the model is. Nah I would keep the spotlights, unless I could find a bona fide period correct pair, they are one of the few mods I think work well. Plus, in this age of Audis with white dwarf stars on the front, got to fight back somehow

Please someone here buy this and roffle it before a trader has it back on ebay at triple the price.

Not in my price range, but very tasty looking Escrot 1300L 4 door:

1 owner, 19,000 miles from new.

I feel this is an odd one, an Escort with low miles one owner etc etc that’s not worth any more than any other solid shell, because it’s a 4 door.  No one wants to collect 1100 drum braked 4 door escorts. A basic immaculate Avenger, Viva, Toledo,or ADo16 is far more desirable to collectors. Escorts are only worth silly money if they’re 2 doors, people only buy 4 doors and estates because they can’t afford a 2 door , if you’ve got £14,000 to play with to buy a base for your RS/ Fast and Furious lookalike you’d buy a 2 door and do a bit of welding ,originality has no meaning in the world of non -AVO , non -RS Fords

Someone will disprove this theory and show me a £25k 4 door 1300e or something.

Every time this pops up on eBay it makes me want it more.

I think when I finally go fully insane I'll sell everything, quit my job and buy something like this, and tour the B roads of the UK.

£6,495.00 though, think I'll wait a bit longer before I go fully insane.

This is amazing, not cheap but a one off opportunity for Japanese car fans.

Despite being listed for £8k, I'd say it's cheap for a solid, running 260C with that plate included. The plate's got to be worth several bags as it is.

That reminds me there's a house by the Great North Way which seems to have a couple of these behemoths parked outside.... Must get a photo or two...

Yes lots of mot advisories..... but road legal to next June!

Well I just went today and took a look today. And drove away in it! Will put some details in my thread but it's all good. Very solid from what I can see and even has working aircon/ climate control. I'm also the second owner of the car!

Looks like a great buy! I can't remember the last time I saw a Marea, let alone a saloon. Fun fact: Debbie Harry had a similar ELX in the late nineties which inspired a Blondie hit.

Excellent news! I tried to view but was told someone else was first in the queue. Enjoy and please let me know when you get fed up with it and need to move it on! Great A/S car!
