This also rocks a huge 1.3 petrol racing engine.

were an eccentric millionaire to buy the pair and organise a drag race, which would win?

Absolute hatred on wheels those things. The only ting going for that one is that it is petrol, that wheezy pathetic boat (w)anchor 1.8 diesel engine most had was fucking dreadful.  Also, every Escort of that era smells of cheap plastics and misery inside.

This is lovely and very much my kind of car, needs a day of tat removal though to look it’s best.

If I didn’t already have two brown Cortina Ghia estates I might be tempted.

Big money, but an amazing car.

Looks very original apart from curtains, would look great behind one of my mk3's, obviously some Kath kitson wanker will have ruined it by next year.

Mentions that the interior will need work.

9 photos. Not one of the interior. Or the engine bay. ???

You can make out from the pictures that the front seats are wrong, the wheels are another indication this is not good. Shame because these are good looking cars especially the run out models but this seems too much money for something that looks so far from being right. I do not imagine the missing bits being easy to source ( wheels and interior)

Is it only me that wants to swap the engine and gearbox from a v6 omega, and maybe the seats too.

It needs 19 inch alloys really.

This looks to be an X14 which were very rare when new, I only became aware of them around 10years ago. My father had a 1972 Viva 2 door when I was young but it was not as nice as this. Could be a good buy if it stays under £500.

Fido will be sorry to see it go.

That does look like a nice car, especially  being an estate with a nice interior. I remember when every dodgy unemployed* painter, plumber, spork, carpenter etc had a Cortina estate , if the EU had opened up 20 years earlier this is what they’d all be. Driving instead of Passat estates.

Its been along time since I’ve seen the “ Let’s just pick out bits of the badge with Tippex”  on a trimmed down 2.8i Granny spoiler.
