I love the idea of them , pity they’re not a bit faster, the big engine medium size car was made obsolete by Torquemonster diesels with 8 speed boxes, see also ZT-260, S80 V8 , even the Thema 8.32 wasn’t much , if any , quicker than the 2.0 Turbo.  It also makes me smile that e500 Mercs and 545 BMWs are worth a fraction of a W8 Passat.

This is only about 40 miles from where FathaN lives, of course he’s back here for the duration. Not sure I could live with LHD anyway, plus the best thing about Granada’s was the smooth waftiness ,not something a 68bhp Indenor is likely to excel at. I had a mk3 with the VM 4 headed monster and it never felt right, even compared to a Pinto. Maybe a  Fat Sherpa turbo would fit.

But, if it was a RHD petrol that looked as good as this it would be £5k +. It’s Ok, I’ve talked myself out of it!

 I know it looks like a boy racer but I am middle aged and not one! It is getting old now so in 2018 we drove to France and painted it on route for fun. Its painted with marine paint by hand by brush as the lacquer had peeled in a few places (and I was going to sell it hence the before photo).

Lots of history - I service it every 10k bit stamped up to 120k. Cambelt done at 90k so its about due.
