They get rougher and cheaper, I’ve seen them at £595. Proper rough mind.

If they work a bit that's crazy money, even if the battery is bollocksed they must be ideal for the ULEZZER zone.

I don’t know how well they work if the battery is proper bolloxed - limp mode?

I really want a rough Prius at some point.

Really, a mk 2 at £595? Presumably an ex taxi with 400,000+ on it?

Edit, I just read the ad above, it looks pretty good on the face of it, usual rules apply, if I had the space, money, need... Blah blah.

I think it was about 200k but no MOT and rough. Can’t remember exactly.

Guessing they still work, but just don't switch over to battery.  Someone clever should put a Transit Di engine in one and cock a snoop at the congestion charge.

Fucking lol at the retail guide. That’s mega though.

Quite a tidy bus for £487 out the door.

He just said it's quite shakey on idle. It's probably the injectors or the vacuum operated engine mounts at a guess?

Every single one (and there were a few) of those 24V Mondeos that came through Chester auctions sounded like an oil starved 1.6 OHC from a Cortina. That car is well fit though.

Not my thing but this looks quite tidy to me and realistically priced too. I remember people buying these as bangers back in the early naughties and the 2.0l were pretty peppy units.

Clutch is apparently slipping, but aren't these ridiculously easy to change or something?

That was the Mk2 I think.

Mk3 still a piece of piss compared to most moderns mind.

The clutch on the diesels can be changed without removing the gearbox I believe, no idea about the petrols though.

IIRC, any 8V (inc. Mk3) had the ‘letter box’ between gearbox and clutch making it easy to change the latter.

Hopefully, we’ll find out when @4wheeledstool finishes the Mk2 and moves on to its successor.

I see the windscreen has a massive hole in it - where would you even start with that?
