An guy I know built one much like that in the early 90s.

He had already made a short one which was a bit basic and rough but a laugh to hoon about and pick up naive girlies for a couple of twat laps around the town sat on a bench above the engine.

Then he spent years and ££££s building a big monstrosity with half a beetle bodywork and roof, you've seen the sort of thing.

It, and that Ebay one have two fundamental flaws which render them unusable.

1. The turning circle will be the same as a supertanker.

2. It won't corner at any speed whatsoever because the front corner of the floor /chassis will dig into the ground at the slightest lean angle.

His 5 year project came out once and has been in his dad's garage ever since.

Verdict: Hopeless

That 740 wagon I posted with a very vague ad was relisted. I'll have my eye on it. Potential parts section bargain (it's listed under 'exhaust silencers'), sounds alright but there's really not much to go off. 100% would if I can though - looks like a giffer car from the grille badges etc.

However I've also found this:

s-l1600.jpg

The photos are shit, but 91k miles and looks tidy, and pretty clean MOT history.

However...

The description reads:

The volvo does have wear in the form of the odd parking marks a tiny bit of blistering on rear lip of nearside arch.

Not bad, but the seller has 92.9% positive feedback. Check it, and the top result:

Hmmmm. It's in Sandwich, Kent...

The above quote was added to the description since the relist though so it could be that the previous buyer wanted the moon on a stick or was a white room dealer or something.

Incidentally, if anybody fancies this, I can confirm that it moves under its own power.

It's the very same car I mentioned a fortnight ago in my spotted thread, but which I failed to get photos of.

Great anecdote, I know.

Yeah that ZX could be an absolute steal to be fair, it looks very tidy indeed. Obviously might be hanging underneath but nothing suggests that.....

It's being sold by a scrapyard so I wonder if, as it's a one-owner car, grandad has died and the kids have just called the local breakers to take away that old heap in the garage.

Yes, "spares or repairs" just meaning we're not bothering to spend time checking it over, we're not offering any guarantee, take your chances.

1979 Ford Cortina 2.0 GL Estate with only 16,000 miles genuine barn/garage find

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1979-Ford-Cortina-2-0-GL-Estate-with-only-16-000-miles-genuine-barn-garage-find/253062933465?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3Db0dc992285674089ab4dd9b0f1948aee%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D253068806651

I've had a question about the mileage of 16,000 and the fact I think it could be correct  The "genuine"  in the title refers to it being a “genuine barn/garage find”, not the mileage, sorry no room for a comma in the title box.

okay

I just mentioned that I thought the mileage could be correct because the drivers  seat is in excellent condition, usually a good indication of how much wear and tear a car has had, equally if the seat was worn out, I'd say that  it didn't look correct. I have no  service history or MOT but I've seen enough cars to  know when something looks right or not... but once again it's just my opinion, maybe I don't have a clue.

Seriously!

I was also asked this but don’t have any written evidence of the time the car was off the road, (Though I don't know what would consist of ?)  only the surrounding neighbours who came to tell us how long it had been in that garage. The new owner will have access to the address on the V5C so they could write and ask them personally, if they felt the need to check my true story

You are serious

could be 116,000 miles, verdict what a complete and utter pile of dog wank story

Range rover 2 door classic

The car in the pictures is how it is now, it is not a basket case as all the main areas of rot have been thrown away.

seriously!

I have approximately £8,000 worth of spares which if anyone wishes to buy with the car will make this an easy restoration

Look at this hilarious pile of wank:

s-l1600.jpg

Wrong colour bumper off a newer Audi held in place with structural gaffer tape and the front of the bonnet lopped off to accomodate, hole cut in bonnet with an angle grinder above the airbox, interior made out of red oxide primer and sheet steel, half the rear bumper is missing, and to top it all off the rear doors have been shut up.

With filler.

I don't care for most 'proper' bikes - epecially sports things and unsilenced vee-twin dumper trucks - and I can't imagine having any practical use for this... but it, and the similar vintage red-white-and-blue CBR600 just look fantastic:

It would probably kilI me in minutes of collecting it.

Had one of those as a work bike a few years ago, one of the last (1994) models. Extremely capable and comfortable bike. A high speed thrash along the Cat & Fiddle pass impressed me. Much nicer and more planted than the Blackbird that replaced it in the work fleet (even though I am a huge fan of sportsbikes and vtwins in particular, I see the attraction of these).

On the subject of wank Audis, look at the 2s.8d. of this thing.  The back end appears to have been sculpted almost entirely from wob after the original estate bodywork was removed with hedge clippers.

'ive fitted a strut brace to enhance the steering which has made a big difference to the way the car handles I've also fitted a K@N air filter to improve the fuel consumption and slight power added aswel.'

Clicked to see if it might be worth getting for parts; it is making me feel a lot better about mine!
