THIS AUCTION IS FOR A B REG PORSCHE 928S IN DARK METALIC BLUE .I BOUGHT THE CAR OFF A FRIEND WHO HAD  BOUGHT THE CAR OVER 7 YEARS AGO AND APART FROM ASKING ME TO TAKE IT FOR AN M.O.T  ON INITIAL PURCHASE (SEE PICTURES FOR THE FAILURE SHEET) HAD JUST PARKED THE CAR AND LEFT IT.IT TRANSPIRES THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER  HAD DONE SIMILAR SO ITS COVERED LESS THAN 50 MILES IN 13 YEARS.<div>DUE TO IT BEING STOOD FOR 7 YEARS I REPLACED THE BATTERY,FUEL PUMP,FUEL FILTER AND SPARK PLUGS AND IT FIRED STRAIGHT UP WHICH IS AMAZING CONSIDERING CONSIDERING THE STATE OF THE FUEL (SEE PICTURES FOR A FUEL SAMPLE IN A BOTTLE).THE FUEL TANK WILL DEFINITELY REQUIRE CLEANING OUT DUE DIRT AND RUST IN THE FUEL.THE ENGINE SOUNDS SWEET WITH NO NASTY NOISES.IT DOES SMOKE SLIGHTLY (SEE PICTURES) BUT ITS NOT A BLUE OIL SMOKE AND THE RADIATOR IS DAMAGED SO IT HAS NO COOLANT SO ITS NOT A WATER ISSUE SO IM GUESSING ITS THE FUEL WHICH NOT ONLY LOOKS TERRIBLE BUT SMELLS TERRIBLE ALSO.</div><div>I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR IN FORWARD AND REVERSE GEARS AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS FINE BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT DISTANCE DUE TO THE DAMAGED RADIATOR/NO COOLANT.</div><div>THE BODYWORK LIKE MOST 928'S IS SUFFERING FROM PAINT BUBBLING AND WILL REQUIRE A FULL RESPRAY TO MAKE PERFECT BUT COULD BE USED AS IS WITH A GOOD POLISH.</div><div>THE INTERIOR WILL NEED A REALLY GOOD CLEAN AT THE LEAST (I WOULD PERSONALLY SPEND A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS ON HAVING IT RE COLOURED)  BUT OVERHALL IT SHOWS VERY LITTLE WEAR FOR A 1985 CAR.THE ARMREST ON THE CENTRE CONSOLE IS MISSING AND UNFORTUNATELY THE RECOVERY DRIVER WHO DELIVERED THE CAR TO ME SPLIT THE STITCHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN HE LOADED THE CAR NOT RUNNING WITH NO POWER STEERING (EASY CHEAP FIX BUT STILL ANOYING.</div><div>SO TO SUM UP,THE CAR STARTS,DRIVES AND STOPS IN NEED OF RESTORATION.IT COULD BE USED FOR SPARES BUT THAT WOULD BE A SHAME IN MY OPONION.THESE CARS ARE VERY GOOD INVESTMENTS AT THE MOMENT AND ARE SURELY SET TO RISE IN VALUE JUST LOOK AT THE PRICES OTHER OLDER PORSCHE'S,YOU COULD BUY THIS CAR NOW THEN LEAVE IT A FEW YEARS AND STILL MAKE A GOOD PROFIT WITHOUT TOUCHING IT.</div><div>PLEASE COULD THE WINNING BIDDER CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS.PAYMENT IS REQUIRED WITHIN 3 DAYS,CASH ON COLLECTION.THANK YOU.</div>

That looks ace for the money. Shame it's not MOT'd though.

It's not far from me either...

Think you might have time to go and look at it for me?  Just in case I suddenly found some cash down the back of the sofa, you know... ;)

I'm sure that could be done! No idea how we'd get it up to you though without MOT? Unless you just pre book an MOT and go for it?

I 'might' be able to store it for a little while too, since there's a space on the drive as my Capri is away being rebuilt.

It looks pretty minging inside tbh but other than that appears ok in the pics. It's up to you...

Pogweasel sleeper.

Someone on my course at uni had a tuned 9000. Pulling nearly 400bhp. Absolutely mentally insane. Required a massive steering wheel fight when he floored it, to keep it going in a straight line.

It had done 240k when he started fiddling with it. By 255k he lost 3rd. By 258k he lost 2nd. Pretty much on the dot at 260k the gearbox died.

20k miles on a 240k mile gearbox with double the normal hp I would call that a win...

Logistics is something we could look at later.  What concerns me more is, would it be viable for someone with no time/space to take on a project?  A trusted pair of eyes going over it would be very helpful.

As for the interior, I've had worse.  Much worse!

nice, i'm sure this was big derek's car,

$_57.JPG

if so, then it is up for sale again, and with another £1000 put on the asking price....

$_57.JPG

it certainly looks like dereks, and if it is, then i can tell you that it is as immaculate as it looks. in fact it is probably better than it was when new.

Looks good, but the seller's been quite honest with photos and it's a shame the rot is starting to get into it. It would be interesting to see the rear inner arches, easily visible inside the boot. They can go quite drastically (I had one in '92 that needed a lot of plating there).

Another Sunny that came up from looking at that red B11:

I reckon these would be pretty handy, with a properly square rear end - none of your lifestyle estate stuff here. Pretty nippy too, I'd imagine.

Edit: There's an outside chance it was on Nissan's press fleet when new. Some other cars with K5..ABL plates were in magazines. Or it could just be a pre-registered thing....

I think that has the same weird electronic carb with catalytic converter setup that mine had, it really strangled that nice twin cam 1.6.
