If I was asked to shake a shitty stick at all the value going on here, I think I'd collapse from exhaustion before even half my work was done...

1.9 TD, 87k, long MOT, £300!

Caravan, neat lawn and freshly wood-stained garage all say 'giffer ownership' to me. This looks terrific.

EDIT: Does that sill ^ look rusty below the b-pillar? Oo, I hope it's not.

Looks like the off-side rear wheel arch has been repaired too. On paper and in low-res photos it looks like a stonking deal but I might suggest that it could well be a total dog.

I know you expect a concours condition car with FSH for £300 but that looks like a bargain to me. Rear arch and sill rust aren't unknown on Xantia estates.

That's what leads to all the "wots yer best price m8" chancers.

And then angrily worded relists...

A car that'll get you noticed. Personally I wouldn't want to drive it anywhere, let alone Europe.

Or over any border within the UK...

Jeez.

The lads over on 'Britain First' would love this.

Just needs a copy of The Sunâ„¢ rolled up on the dash and a casually racist bumper sticker for maximum return.

"Immigrants do it in the tunnel" sticker perhaps?

can somebody explain why buying this would be a bad idea.

Apart from "wheels look shit", I can see that from here....£995, 54 reg, 189k. 12months ticket.

No mention of history.

I've just answered my own question haven't I?

Wouldn't necessarily be, I've had two of the 2.4 variety.  Current one for six years and no headaches.  Admittedly they were both the 10v

It's cheap, it will drive well, it will break well if it comes to it.

Wheels are standard, easily rectified.
