Aren't they some sort of mentalist 2 stroke lump?

Yep. 19L V16 Detroit Diesel 71 series... 700hp. Probably less than 1mpg.

GET OUT THE WAY, MUTHAFUDGER!

'Its fitted with a detroit diesel engine'

Aren't they some sort of mentalist 2 stroke lump?

Same engine as fitted to the M109 Self Propelled Howitzer and Greyhound bus.

It's an engine note I'll always recognise.

What's an M109 you ask?

OI! I'm only a quarter Fifer. And that quarter's got precisely fuck all to do with Lochgelly... :P

LOCHGELLY 01592 sounds like the premise for a really shit American TV teen drama.

In Beverly hills 90210 they hang out at the mall pouring over their emotions, expressing every ounce of their angst. In Lochgelly 01592 they just hing aboot getting fingered outside the pie shop.

The engine runs beautifully, could be doing with a service. My Gran had it serviced every year at it's mot, but I would think the carbs could be doing with a tune up.

If my experiences with a little-old-lady car are anything to go by all it needs is a damn good thrashing! 8)

Capri Lazer. What a shit name for a model range that was. Nothing says lazer like a 1.6 Pinto. Still would though.

If we were in 1990 i would just 'accept' that capri as the work of a young and penniless idiot who knew no better, much like a barried-up Corsa of today, I suspect a trip around a few council estates would have found a few similar efforts being built by Waynes, Deans and Kevins on the roadside, wind flapping their mullets in their eyes as they painted the bodykit with a single aerosol on a draughty Sunday morning. But someone who is barrying up a Capri to that extent in 2012 is clearly a special kind of halfwit, that looks SERIOUSLY FUCKING HIDEOUS MAN! This person needs taking into care.

Imagine going on a long drive somewhere, falling asleep in a carpark and waking up to this? It'd be like waking up after a heavy night on the lash to find yourself in bed with a hefty ginger bint in fox hunting gear with a whip in her hand, and her pink Ford Ka with 'powered by flange rust' stickers right outside your front door.

I fully expect you have been 'beloving your brother.'

You say this like it's a bad thing.

Oddly enough, the only thing that makes that Capri look pants is the wheels - if it had some properly-offset race-type wheels on it rather than the bling that's on it, it would look like a half-decent 1980s replica. Those wheels spoil it.

The penalty for fitting any bodykit to a Capri other than the Cologne kit to a Mk1, or X-pack to a Mk2/3 should be a short but very painful death. It should be retrospectively applied, so anyone who did this in the 80s or 90s gets the chop as well. Whoever did that monstrosity above should be executed with extreme prejudice.

There ya go. Problem solved. I really should be Galactic President.

The main issue with that Capper is that livery is better suited to an ST205 (I think) Celica. Not well known Ford colours at all. Just bloody idiotic.

The main issue with that Crapper is that it'd be better to have an STD. At least you could hide the fact you were a knob rot rather than advertise it to the world

I'm sure that Capri appeared on this thread before but it was in Focus ST burn't testicle orange.

How utterly horrid must these mutant metal rimmed steering wheels (as on blue Vectra) be to use in the winter? Even if they're plastic they must still be pretty awful.
