You can't really complain at 695 quid for this slightly rough 05 Rova 75 with the BMW diesel donk in it. It's an auto too so no annoying slave cylinder issues.

Can you retro-fit the earlier front ends onto these? That facelift was truly disgusting, possibly the most unsuitable ever. Plus the whole clip needed 'fine adjustments' during the dealer PDI i.e. "Fuck it, it's never going to line up with the bonnet"

I'm thinking of starting up some sort of renegade militia group.

Whilst I am peace-loving, content and possess little murderous rage and therefore lacking in the usual reasons to start such a venture, the possible combat trucks and war machines that could comprise the battle fleet are just WAY COOL.

I had to find some reason to form this army and as I have no beef with anyone or anything I decided to consult the Grumpy Old Man thread to see what is getting the goat of others.

So welcome, potential members, to the Coalition Against Telephone Providers and Internet Selling Sites. I've settled on the Bristol area for the location of The Compound, which will be the C.A.T.P.I.S.S headquarters, and this land will henceforth be known as ASAS or the Autoshite State of Avon and Somerset (can you hear that? That's the sound of the acronym barrel being well and truly scraped).

Fellow freederm fighters, choose your weapon.

yes, the front panel is the same, the headlamps and early bumpers off san early car will go straight on.

i personally like the facelift front on the MG's and earlier mark 1 front on the rovers.... plus it is worthwhile remembering that MGR had about £100 to spend on the facelift, so i think they did really well with it!

the front end thoughcan be adjused if the fit isnt quite right, but having had the bumper off of mine i can honestly say that getting it back on, and in the right spot is a PITA, and there was 3 of us doing the one on my car... it is big, cumbersome and surprisingly heavy bit

A friend of Ms C needs a cheap motor so I just did a DVLA check on that £100 Fiat Seicento and it comes up as a white 2286cc diesel with no MOT :o

Nah. Taxed & MoT'd 1108cc. VEH not VEK.

Much prefer the facelifted R75. Might think differently in 20 years when the plastic hazes over. Seem to be lasting OK so far though.

I think the facelift suits the MG version better than the 75 personally, but I like both styles. Yes you can swap the front end out incidentally, all the connectors etc are in the same place you literally buy the lights, grille and bumper and slap them on.

When I saw that R75 estate was so close to home I thought it would be rude not to go and get it.  Luckily I looked again at the pics and while the front bumper paint may well be wonky plastic/metal bonnet factory finish, the terrible osr repair to where its been rear-ended put me off more than a bit.  Perhaps the wavy quarter panel, with the petrol flap hanging at a jaunty angle with the trim also awol, will take the viewers eye away from him only having one sheet of newspaper and half a rattle can of Halfords Nearlyrite Silver left.

is there much love on here for BL's most maligned product?

i'm sure this car features heavily in Ben Wankln's Allegro book. SWMBO gotit me for Xmas, and i've been russet brown with envey since.

now if only i can think of away to sneek this into the fleet without her noticing...... (we've got too many, we've got no space.... etc, etc)

I bet it cost BL more to create this commercial dash than it would have to stick with the car version.

You can / could start these by wedging a damp lolly stick in the ignition switch

I'm having kittens about this xr4i. I'd  be on it if I had cash money from the Merc but still I'm tempting to raid the christmas club money if it stays at this price
